Title: Gamo's Smooth Action Trigger (SAT)
Post by: RedFeather on April 06, 2012, 09:35:51 PM
Has anyone had experience with one of these?  Is this the same as the current plastic abortion they went to or is it actually an improvement?

I'd very much like to know that too Red.

But I must point out that their current "plastic abortion" responds extremely well to the addition of a 2nd adjustment screw. Mine is very sweet after doing that and the normal trigger 'slickening' work---and I'm very much a trigger elitist.       Tom

Did you add the second screw yourself? If so, is there a tutorial video for that or is it simple?

It is the same modular trigger that they have in all of the late model guns. Just renamed it for marketing purposes.

Thanks.  Someone on another forum posted the GAMO video bit from the Shot Show and was going on about how wonderful it was they finally made a really good trigger.  About all I could find was it's adjustable in stock form to around 3.5 lbs.  No real breakthrough there.  Figured as much.  So, in short, you still have to mod it or replace it.

Yes same ole trigger with some fancy looks. I've done some mod's on the stock Gamo trigger with lighter springs etc. for a customer who prefered the stock trigger over the GRT. He didn't like the light pull of the GRT :o but wanted to lighten up the pull on the stock trigger. After playing with springs, sears etc. I got him a smooth pulling trigger lighter then the stock trigger pull with a quick clean break. It in no way held a candle to the GRT but that's what he wanted along with a slim trigger blade which too just a moment compressing the blade in a vice. Ed

can I order a GRT-4G Trigger from you to replace a SAT trigger? I feel the SAT breaks clean, but just too heavy for such a light weight gun.

Same trigger, just has an adjustment screw that does affect the pull weight a little bit.

I just got my Gamo Silent stalker in from AGD today and WOW it's light but the trigger is reminiscent of the gamo 22/shotgun I had from 3 years ago. It had a GTRIII trigger in no time after learning about them! This new gamo with the plastic trigger, I think it is worse than the stock trigger on my WWII Mosin Nagant rifle! I hope this rifle shoot really well because then it will too have the GTR4G trigger upgrade.
