while not the same rifle, my CFX made a grinding noise when i cocked it after a teardown .. i missed a guide piece alignment as i recall ... slightly gouged my compression tube on the outside.any marks on the outside of your compression tube ?
On the cocking ... Place a GREASE on the outside of Comp chamber to main tube area where the two slide over one another while cocking.accuracy .. Run Bronze brush threw the bore a few passes doing some extra brushing inside the first 6" or or at breech end.
Hello guys I'm new here because I've been having some problems with my TX200. Now I'm here hoping to find some knowledgeable people that have had problems with there TX. Okay let me explain what's going on with my TX200, about a week ago I was shooting my TX200 perfectly fine enjoying my new hawke Airmax on it but 2 days later my TX wasnt holding groups the accuracy was all over the place the POI would shift a lot I checked the scope rings everything was fine an tight. So I decided to open it up clean everything out relubed it an check the seals (I'll come back to that in a bit) they all seem fine so I put it back together it shot smoother but the accuracy was still so terrible I opened it again!! Paid closer attention to the seals an found that the breech seal was torn a bit. So I took it out next I go to the piston seal it had like shrapnel inside it an like a piece missing from it so I ordered new breech seals new piston seals they'll be here tomorrow hope it fixes my problem. Also the first time I opened it up an put it together I was making like a scraping noise as i cocked it?? But If the new seals don't do the job what could the problem be? (Yes I've cleaned the barrle)

Alex, unsure how to guide you. try lubing as was suggested to stop the abrasion. if that fails, onto next idea
you can post an image on GTA or host it on FLICKR for free, then link the image to a post\GTA images need to be SMALL though ..

New seals should indeed recover your accuracy. As far as the rubbing goes you can try buttoning the outside of the compression tube if you see nothing obvious. The rear would be the most obvious location with the first button on the side opposite the cocking lever. You may opt to button the front of the compression tube as well. If trying to post pictures which are too large you can try a program like Irfanview to resize them.
ARH does indeed sell sets of buttons. I have used JB Weld for buttons. The idea is to reduce friction or scraping between two close, possibly sliding surfaces. I applied JB Weld in what I thought was a thin layer at three points. When it was nearly (but not quite) set I test fit my job. I'm glad I did because I couldn't slide things back together - my "buttons" were too thick. I worked them down until things would JUST go back together. When I was done I could barely feel the lump. It may not take much at all.
Was it windy? Don't fool yourself thinking wind doesn't make a difference. Even the slightest breeze opens up your groups.
