 Dave, James & Jeff, Thanks for the replies. These 'hogs have been taken close to buildings & equipment. I've seen several in the fields but those are fodder for
 PB's so far. I tried setting up on a shooting mat 40yrd.s from a huge dirt mound w/ my Stoeger Ranger. I laid there for almost two hr.s w/o any contact except for
 another some 80yrd.s away. I am not meant for such "activity" ! The shooting mat is rolled  & hung up in the Man Cave. I'm off my game at the present due to
 some leg/spine issue I'm still doctoring for, so most pesting is close to vehicle or short (Did I say short?) walk. I may try some light slugs in the "Shark". I needed
 a few rounds for this last guy( yep old male). The JTS 18gr.s are accurate enough ,but it was gusting yesterday late afternoon when I made my last sweep of that
 farm and I held for a between eye& ear but I hit back in the neck on the initial shot. I was able to reach in under the ledge in the photo, grab the tail and pull it
 out for the coup de gras. Tail pull extractions on adult G-hogs can be "exciting ",been there, done that, have witnesses' to verify when they recover from
 laughfests!

Congrats on the 2nd G-hog Marty!  I knew you'd get some before the end of the month   I haven't spotted a single one in the neighborhood yet.  I hope I didn't finally wipe them out last year.  Oh well it was a good 25 year run.

 Fellow AirEnthusiasts' ,I took out another male HOSP a few minutes ago at our "duplex" bird house ( a two holer bluebird house). Frosty yard this morning so I'll
 
 wait till later for retrieval. Friends coming soon to take us for brunch anyway. Yesterday while doing some range shooting at barn no.2 , I discovered several new
 'hog dens. Many are in locations with good sniping/stand locations. I've contacted a friend that shoots .22 PRS and,since retirement, has joined me on several
 G-hog safaris( I may be close to "enabling" another airgunner). If the weather settles enough,we may make our first this week.

Dang Marty, you've been tearing them up!  A groundhog, HOSP and a rat!  I sure did miss a lot being out of country last week!  I have a lot of catching up to do!
