Thank you Harry!  Both previous shots sent him flipping into the air, but he landed on the run and shot into the underbrush!  If he wasn’t grazed by the pellet, he was showered with shrapnel from the pellet sticking the concrete backstop!  But, yes, the 3rd time was a charm!

 Harry , notice the typical "artillery " effects that Paul describes ? Evidently "aim small, miss small " are not his motto    . May have been a descendant of
 one of the "Three Bind Mice" from the Fairytail. (Google it)

haha, well he actually "missed small" and grazed it and/or took off his tail, and that's because his targets are so dang small.  These are small rats and at the distances he shoots them at (35 to 50 yards?) it is a very challenging shot regardless of the caliber or FPE, or how accurate your gun is.

Those are small targets, especially at those distances and add the fact they don’t sit still for very long, you almost have to anticipate where they will stop, have the crosshairs in that point and squeeze the trigger before they arrive!  This, unfortunately, leaves a lot of room for errors and subsequent small misses!  Regardless of how small a miss may be, a miss is still a miss and the rats lives to see another day!

Paul, we just appreciate these threads and are having a blast with them! Your 50yd shots really are tough to do on rats which are way smaller than a squirrel and you also shoot mice that are TINY so many kudos to you for your shot making abilities and for these threads that are FUN! We appreciate ya!

Thank you Randall!  These threads are what keep me going, they are almost more fun that actually shooting the rats!
