Unarex canex issue

I picked up a “reduced” Canex from tractor supply yesterday for $29.99, marked down from $50. Too hard to pass up a dual cartridge co2 repeater pellet rifle with 3 10rd mags for $30; even if it shoots like poo, good enough for beer cans out camping right?

Or so i thought, i loaded in both co2 12g carts butt to butt and pierced them. All seemed well, i heard the gas charge up an then i tried to fire once and ALLLLLLLL the gas leaked from what i assume is the valve. 😢

She wont hold air, brand new. any of you guys have any experience dealing with umarex? Iv heard its a nightmare trying to get them to fix their stuff. Im willing to tackle the project and replace seals but seems like they dont like to sell parts…? Im not super interested in mailing it off to then for repair unless absolutely necessary.

Any of you folks have any ideas or experience with these co2 repeaters?

Take it back to Tractor Supply for a refund or exchange.

If you can exchange it at TS for the same rifle at same price I'd try that first.

Return for refund and walk AWAY is another option, ESPECIALLY if you either don't want to or cannot work on repairing your own airguns.
Warranty service, if you could even get it, on something like that is likely to be a very UNSATISFYING experience.

Last option is keep it and fix it, assuming you DO work on your own airguns and actually enjoy the challenge like I do.

It looks like that rifle could be a very fun plinker, once it is working the way it should.
At $30 it could be a worth the educational experience even if you can't get it shooting right.
I suspect you can fix it and might find it a rewarding experience :-)

 I looked it up, I will have to visit TS on the way home today, it seems reminiscent of the Umarex 1022, with a different mag system. I like my 1022, better than my Benji Wildfire. Best to return IMO

Yeah, i received a reply to the email early this morning, and I just got off the phone with clay from customer service/repairs about a warranty claim. What rthe bummer is; they want me to cover shipping to send it out. 😬 that’s probably going to cost me close to what i paid for the dang thing.  Plus, its the holiday schedule for them folks also so, i probably wont even have the gun back til the end of January or so.

I feel like the best option is to just take it back to tractor supply at this point and just call it a loss. Never owned a semi auto co2 rifle and was pretty excited to get my daughter shooting again. (She HATES pumping the SSP and MSP rifles). But if these things have this low of QC; odds are i’ll be dealing equipment failures more often then not.
I was informed that umarex only covers shipping both ways on their expensive models. The $50-$60 price point on these canex rifles, they have the customer be responsible for getting it there. :/ ohh well. If i end up swapping it today, i’ll post a review

 You may want to look into the Beeman CO2 rifles, cost a bit more but have nicer triggers etc.

James! Dang man, those look pretty awesome! Unfortunately, i dont live in a free state so, here in California we cant buy performance car parts, or aftermarket emissions equipment…, ammo, etc. heck, even amazon restricts us from buying small engines and bb/pellet things, they flat out will not ship it to us here. once i retire, me and my lady are selling both of our homes and moving to florida. 😁 cant wait!

My buddy Pelletsport got one for Christmas... same thing. And the exchange at TSC also leaked... he is in talks with Umarex to see what the issue is, but it seems bigger than him, i see.
The 10/22 seemed a more solid option... shame that they are discontinuing it. I'll stick to my old crosman 1077

So far I've seen two videos and read two posts on the Canex pooping out in a few shots. I'm very sure the Canex has an over spring hammer spring.  I thought of getting one over the low price, but seen too many problems in such short time.

I had a Canex from TS that could only get about 10 shots from two C02 cylinders. I exchanged it for another one that would (barely) make it through its three 10-pellet mags.

IMHO, it's designed to sell CO2 cylinders and pellets and not to be anything more than that. I kept the second one, but never use it.

The plan is for me and my lady to both sell out homes in San Diego and move to florida after we retire.
My mother lives there and we visit frequently. I love it there. move to hudson or something and buy some land
