Looks to be solid nice work on a pile of scrap wood. I would just of used a cordless driver and whatever wood almost fit without need to be cut... you get the picture
GuysFor what it's worth, I made one from this, Black & DECKER-WM425-Portable-Project-CenterI cut the top to fit the size I needed, and then clamped it down with the B&D bench,it is very portable and secure, and works very well. It also fits in any vehicle and the 4x4 side by side,....ymmvTia
That Fieldpod looks like a good choice for use at home outside, too. I don't leave any gunnish items outside except one can hanging from a dead tree. Moving a heavy bin and other jerryrigged objects outside to check sight and scope adjustments is a PITA. The device's weight is OK for moving around while walking elsewhere, too.
