Bill, I like your salvage target ideas a lot. We recently went to a Filipino grocery store, where I pounced on a bundle of disposable wooden chopsticks. These are the cheap kind that some restaurants provide in paper sheaths, not the good, smooth bamboo ones to be washed and reused.

After washing a so-called disposable pair, I gave it the old how-can-this-be-used-for-target-practice eyeball. Stuck an empty can over one end and planned to drill holes in some scrap wood for the base. Your use of drywall screws would be more stable and durable, though maybe a little iffy with BBs. If the chunk of wood is small enough, it can sit back inside the metal pellet trap, which leads to fewer ricochets sent far away than a can hung from binder clip and line in front.

This is verging on OCD, but I keep a rough tally of how many pellets and BBs I pick up vs how many were shot. 🤓

P.S.
A soda can that's been shot into a waisted hourglass shape can be shot into the air with a good hit that smacks from under the top part. The best one was a slingshot ball that rocketed the can upward, where it flipped in midair and then landed upside-down again on the box. I still want to duplicate that with an airgun.

Betty Lou and I sat around an outdoor fire and shot the Daisy Model 25 BB guns yesterday afternoon/evening.
I set up a cardboard target at 10ish yds and we shot 3 26 round magazines each. We also plinked at targets of opportunity like pinecones, sticks and leaves. Lots of interacting and laughter. We had a great time.
The fire cleaned up a ton of fallen branches and scrap wood.

Right before real darkness set in last night, I grabbed a few pellets to shoot at the tree can 45+ ft away. I wanted to see how well I could see in such dim light with the scope on the 880. WAAAAY better than with any open sight!

If I can shine bright enough light on the can, I'll try shooting it on a really dark night, new moon and no clouds.

I took a few weeks off from my daily 10M shooting.  Just got tired of having to practice every day.  Anyways 10M rifle season is over and I didn't do very well.    Pistol season is starting in a few weeks so today I practiced with the IZH 46m.  Didn't shoot well, didn't shoot badly but I enjoyed it.  Trigger felt heavier than I remember it from last year.   I must be getting weaker.

Bill and Betty Lou, I shot my M25 today at a soda can, the usual 33 ft away. It already had had 10 BBs smack it in a previous session, and I was hoping to cut it in two with another 30 this time. Got it down to a narrow band before I had to stop to make dinner.

All but 3 BBs were trapped in the cardboard layers of the BB trap. I found those on the ground nearby. The retrieval search has become part of the activity, lighting up the dopamine receptors less than a good shot does, but still lighting them.

Glad you're having fun... that's what it's all about.
I began the day by cleaning up from last evening's shooting then Betty Lou wanted to make a store run.
When we got back I headed for the shop to have a look at a compressor idea that has been occupying space in my head and dove into that.
I did manage to get that project done and aired up the Beeman 1358 that I left one the bench after shooting it yesterday but I didn't do any shooting. I plan to make up for it tomorrow.

I felt like shooting this Snow peak Sp500 today.

For the money,  these are far better than any of the umarex budget pistols, that markpoint I recently bought is not a great shooter and the trigger is atrocious,  the ruger mk4 & buckmark shoot better than that but the triggers aren't much better.
I can keep this pistol inside 1" consistently off hand at 10yd and hit cans consistently off hand at 15-20yd, plus the trigger is pretty decent.

When my dad bought me this thing out of a catalog or something last year out of the blue I expected one of those old industry brand pistols, but while those were all steel & wood they were also extremely crude and shot like complete trash.
This has far more plastic and the trigger is probably going to break at some point,  but at least it's actually a decent shooter.

 Shot these two 499Bs.

 The top one is an Ebay rescue that I modded with a custom spring and spring spacer. It shoots around 420 fps.
It's a little stiff to cock, but shoots pretty smoothly.

 The bottom gun I got new and just did a normal service and lube. It shoots about 275 fps. It has a silky smooth shot cycle!

 Both are super fun and deliver dime-sized and smaller groups at ten yards despite my poor vision.

I shot the Beeman Raider and the Crosman 3622.  About five shots through each.  I go back and forth shooting left or right handed.  Whatever suits me on any given day.  Right now I’m confined to left hand only but I’m still good enough to hunt.

I had limited time between work and the lodge.
Pulled out the Listone Victor CO2 pistol for a few shots in the garage between tasks.
I love this clone of an Alpha1... Super accurate.
Let's see if it still holds pressure overnight.

I compared shots from the scoped 880 on front and rear bags, indoors 17' from muzzle, first with the familiar RWS Super Dome 8.3 grain and then with the new-to-me H&N Terminator 7.25 gr pellets.

I warmed up with 10 pellets (scope mag 2 power), then two sets of 5 pellets, each shot with scope mag 7 power. No idea why the third set began with a flyer while the other 4 shots in it were close enough to touch each other.

In contrast, the virgin foray with the Terminators yielded one ragged hole from 10 shots, no flyers. They came straight out of the tin but I will count and inspect the rest as usual. Eager to see if they're as consistently good farther out!
