Machine Shop Talk & AG Parts Machining / Re: m12x1 to m10x1 adapter« Last post by OldCrow on Today at 10:32:18 PM »Always a jail house lawyer in the group.
The appellate court ruled that the ATF must prove intent. That looks like this: https://oldspooks.com/ ATF never appealed the ruling and doesn't look like it has any interest in prosecuting AG owners. That is probably why people who build and sell AG moderators are not being prosecuted (unless they say/do something stupid which indicates they intend to violate the firearms laws). We will see. In the end legal advice from people on Internet forums is worth exactly what you paid for it. 2

3D printing and files / Re: 1/2 - 20 Moderator long and short versions« Last post by OldCrow on Today at 09:52:21 PM »It looks like there are three layers of plastic 0.60mm which will need to be removed from the attachment end of that moderator if you print that file. The easiest way to do that would be to put it on a gun that is running twenty or thirty FPE and shoot a blast of HPA through it. Should come right out. Mind your direction, it won't be moving slow. If you don't want to do that just clear it with an xacto-knife.
TBH it probably will print as a little birds nest you can pick out with forceps. 7
Welcome New Members / New member« Last post by Renfro on Today at 09:46:53 PM »Just started with airguns. I have a 2 day old Beeman Raider in .25 cal. Looking forward to getting out soon. Would like to shoot silhouettes as I used to shoot handgun silhouettes. Also like to punch paper. Pretty much like all the shooting sports I can. But 74 years old kind of slows things down.

3D printing and files / Re: Standard 22 Moderator 1/2 UNF x 20« Last post by OldCrow on Today at 09:39:25 PM »Just added the "BOA" to the catalogue up at thingiverse.
It is a two baffle "fat" can 100mm x 60mm about 283cc . The design was sort of imspired by the "cans" that Airforce puts on the Talon P rifles. Very big, fat and ugly but quiet in a short package. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6992911 I uploaded several non-AG related models up today as well. If anyone is interested in Mikrotik routers they might find a useful case up there. 9

Yes 15mm I did not really compare -I just quickly shot one shot and thought wow that was really quiet on a Beeman 2027 pistol 10

It seems counter-intuitive but if I double volume by increasing diameter while keeping all other parameters the same I get roughly -3db every time. YYMV but that's what the numbers seem to indicate. I couldn't begin to explain that. Maybe @Wobblyhand could take a stab at it? How is his modeling going? |
