Nice rifles so far guys, I used a newer 392 for years squirrel hunting and loved it. I've had a couple runners and had to do a few follow up shots with the R7. I must be doing something wrong. The gun shoots one hole groups at 25 yards. And I always try to get a rest while hunting. Could be bad luck not sure. Need to practice more with it. That being said, if I made those same shots with my Woods Walker they would be dead. I've been going for only headshots under 25 yards and somehow still lost a couple yesterday. My R7 shoots air arms falcons at 675 fps for about 7.5 fpe.

I have hit squirrels in the head and had the run a distance before I could finish them off. They are just tough critters. And something else to think about: Some of those that run off will heal and carry on. I have killed squirrels carrying my pellets from last year. It happened more than one time too.
Whats your favorite air rifle for squirrel hunting? I'm curious to know everyone's favorite and why. Post pictures if you have them please. Let's see your favorites. I'll snap some pictures tomorrow of mine, can't seem to find any. Always interested to see what everyone else is hunting with. I like light rifles or carbines that are accurate. I usually keep my shots inside 30 yards, so energy isn't quite as important. My favorite now is a Benjamin woods walker with an 18 inch barrel. It shoots .22 cphps in the mid 800s. Although lately, I've been taking out the Beeman R7 and love it, but it limits my range. I've been bitten by the springer bug again, and might buy either a Hw50s or Beeman R9. I'd really like to try a .20 caliber. Just something different I guess.
