A friend was just over with his new re-furbed 220. We installed a GRT trigger and mounted his UTG scope with the UTG one piece medium mount and started shooting. Boy is that thing ever twangy!! After a bit he shot my rws 34 .177 with a kit and was really impressed with the nice shot cycle.
So my question is what can be done to calm his gun down? Will any of Vorteks kits or JM's work in this platform? I know they don't list anything specifically but thought perhaps one of their kits would work.
I see that the E3650 spring will fit...will that spring reduce some of the twang?
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanx!! Dan

The E3650 spring is a great powerplant, its like dropping a cummins into it. It will last you tens of thousands of shots. A simple lube tune and re-seal will cut down on some spring twang.

What nate said, it just needs a proper tune, air rifle headquarters has a kit for it, will make a night and day difference.

I know he has the spring and piston seal....does he have a complete kit including spring guide/tophat that will fit this gun?

This it really all you need to get rid of the twang, but some members may be able to tune in as to how to obtain custom guides and tophats.
Another thing to consider is to convert it to NP, it will surely get rid of spring twang. It is very simple to do, and many members, including myself, love gas ram airguns.

I had Ed[shadow] turbo tune a 880 gamo which has the same power plant . He also placed a GRT trigger on the gun also. These kits are available from Maccari. This is a sweet smooth shooting gun now as well as being accurate and it still not broken in yet.

I am going to suggest he shoot it as is for a while and see if it settles down.
