They might sound like a lot of work till you realize you only need 3-4 pumps for plinking.

I mostly punch paper and shoot these little wooden scrabble type squares from the dollar store craft section, indoors at 5m and I shoot from my preferred sitting position.
That's how I normally shoot, but have thought about starting to practice some more official competition type stances and positions...etc to challenge myself.
The one position that has always seemed the most awkward to me is prone, and I think I'll start working on that one first, though I'm not sure whether I want to use the included shooting sling or not. Maybe I'll have to try both and see which works out best.
Does anybody here practice more official target type shooting with their 499 ?

No, it's a type of airgun !
Oh!, no I don't have one of those.

I have some of the official 5 meter targets used by the JCs and Daisy.

I tried the prone shooting position some earlier and my arms absolutely did not want anything to do with it.
My 6 shot groups were roughly equal to my sitting and off hand group sizes, but my arms were not happy.
