And the SMILE Just gets BIGGER. You will think of grandpa every time you pull the trigger on that gun. Craig
I dont have any pictures right now I might take some tomorrow. The gun is a mid 70s crosman 3100.
I think there was a safety recall on those...unintentional firing..? might want to look it up...I looked to make sure, I had read here, it is a Cometa 100 and 550 fps is not bad... I assume it had a leather seal and you soaked it with silicone oil...well there might be folk replying with much more knowledge than I... I am just not a springer guy...Does look like air gun spares caries 3 different springs for it...https://www.gunspares.co.uk/products/24319/100/
Wow Wyatt. That is a GREAT story!you have FAR more guts than I. I've been shooting for around 10 years now, and STILL won't take one of them apart!
Thanks for saving another airgun!
Please make sure you use a copper penny dated 1981 or earlier. Since 1982, pennies are made of zinc with copper plating. A copper penny will work away the oxidation without scratching the steel.
