Quote from: Back_Roads on May 03, 2021, 11:21:22 PM Well I just pulled the trigger on my smallest big bore, CHALLENGER STANDARD AIR RIFLE.30 Cal. James did you get the 32 inch barrel ? I bought the .30 32inch barrel bullpup version ,and I really like it so far ... I just need to figure out bullets for the .30 cal ... Wayne those pellets shoot really good out of the Challenger , in my own gun the light weight ones longest pin's , and the heavy weight with shortest pins are dead on so far that I have tested .
Well I just pulled the trigger on my smallest big bore, CHALLENGER STANDARD AIR RIFLE.30 Cal.
I got out with mine this morning, I did two shots while I was out there one shot in a pinup target and another shot to empty the gun in a dead tree. The accuracy shooting my pellets from this gun is simply amazing in the accuracy department. I did see one nice fat fox squirrel come out of his nest, move all around in the tree and finally took of in search of food, I didn't see one red squirrel or even a chipmunk. It was definitely too cold for the ground hogs to be out.
The .30 Challenger arrived today. I mounted the Alpha 6 scope on it and aired it up to 3500 psi. I'll let it sit overnight it check for leaks and hopefully will get a chance to zero it tomorrow. It came with an extra spring, looks like a hammer spring, but don't know for sure. Anyone else get an extra spring? Just curious if it's a different weight spring than what's installed in the gun or the same...

I got a short window of opportunity and got it zeroed in. I did a 5 shot string of the Vortex 48.6 grain and 44.5 grain FX Hybrid slugs. This was all done on the initial 21 Mpa fill and ended at just about 15 Mpa.48.6g Vortex:96796595392690244.5g FX Hybrid:891856842823835After that, velocity dropped to under 800 FPS for the remaining shots. I did a total of 15 shots, so not quite 2 full magazines. It wasn't as loud as I thought it would be, so hopefully once DonnyFL has adapters available, I can add a .30 Cal LDC and quiet it a bit more...
Yes, I have the .30 cal with the 24" barrel. I did come with an extra spring, I need to swap them out and see if there is a difference.

Don't ask me how I know...
