I'm thankful that I'm enjoying air guns more and more. When I was a kid we had a four position 100 yard shooting range in the backyard with a shooting shack for rainy weather. My father was a serious shooter and usually was shooting PBs every day. He reloaded for the local PD and they were often shooting in our back yard. When I joined the PD I eventually became a firearms instructor and we got in a fair amount of shooting time with SMGs. Not too many neighbors around to complain in the olden days. One day we were shooting SMGs, some suppressed, some not. A new neighbor came through the woods screaming "what the f--k are you a--h-l-s doing?" He soon realized we were the police dept and decided to leave us alone. It must take a pair to angrily confront strangers shooting machine guns in the woods. Never saw him again. Anyways I realized that civilization was encroaching and it would just be a matter of time before more complaints. The 100 yard range is gone but I still shoot in my backyard which is a couple hundred yards from my fathers old range. 95% air gun shooting for me now or suppressed PBs. I'm guessing eventually there will be a local ordinance against discharge of firearms. But I'll still be shooting pellets. Every day if I stay healthy.

I'm lucky because I have a field behind my house and it is 230 yards to the top of it from my porch. If I need more at my grandmas where there are 96 acres of fields and woods to hunt and up there she has a spot where I can get around up to 600 yrds to shoot.
I would love to open the back door and shoot, I woudl be in jail within minutes
