So I posted earlier that I was looking for something for coyotes but wasn't worried about deer because airguns were not legal for deer here in Indiana. Well after talking to a couple people in the know we will be able to use them for deer for the 1st time this season! Regulations will be .40 cal minimum and for airbows 300 fps minimum. So what should I get 🤔. Really like the Texans. Also thinking of the Sumatra 909 for the ability to shoot arrows as well but feel with lead ammo would be very limited in range. Also heard it has a very hard trigger. Not wanting to spend much over 1000. Thoughts?
400 FPE ? then go for Texans But you probably will have to cut the barrel down a bit to use Airbolts,.....not a bad thing to make them a little shorter they are way to long IMO

Just an aside, before I moved up and moved out to D.C. for work, lived in Indiana and was a Conservation Officer with Indiana DNR nearly a decade ago. Did the gig for nine years. Monroe County area. Raised in Bloomington. Anyhow, look at some of the Korean options available. Personally, AF Texans have a superior inline valve, but costly. I'd have to look at Indiana code to see what other caveats are required. I suspect not only caliber, but a minimum muzzle energy is a requirement too. Here in Virginia amd other states it is.

They change laws all the time though.Maryland has 400 FPE.

Well I'll be. Don't suppose you know Corey rieman? He's assistant manager out there at Monroe but he may have got there after you left. Me and him have chased a lot of turkeys out there
