For Cripes sakes fellas!...Can we not have at least ONE discussion about a gun organization in the news that does NOT turn political? Jeeezzzz...This gets to be ridiculous.

I find it hard at time to see the line where current affairs becomes political,...politics are part of current affairs so there's time when you just mention what's happening and it sounds political even if it's not intended to be.

There used to be a Current Affairs gate on the GTA. It was removed for these reasons. Then members wanted a place to discuss other HOBBIES. The Back Room was created with a specific set of rules for that purpose. Many consider it's a wide open place to post whatever they choose without rules. There has been consideration among staff and ownership to remove The Back Room as well but so far, it has survived.

After all the hullabaloo in 2018 for the connection between Maria Butina and the NRA, is it any surprise?  In-fighting and internal lawsuits and craziness oh-my!

There are other advocacy groups I prefer supporting.

If anybody has enough passion to open up a true marksmanship enthusiast, safety and  education organization I would join. But the nra in its current form?  Toxic...  I really hope we can get some levelheaded people together to represent those of us who enjoy this hobby responsibly, without looking like gun industry lobbyists or political shills.

They only "side with" and get entangled with pro-2nd amendment politicians and use the same standard to evaluate everyone. Why would you not be for the gun industry that supports/provides this hobby?  The NRA is apolitical in the sense that they can agree with anyone if they agree on gun rights.

It would be great if we didn't need to have anyone lobby for gun rights.

I am an Endowment member and I want to see less personal corruption and personal misuse of funds. I actually joined to join with the struggle to retain our rights. I did not join to pay for Wayne's (or anyone's) VERY expensive wardrobe and excessive vacation trips.

I would like to see more funding for youth based shooting sports too.

If people could just be "adults" and discuss things or let mentions of things they disagree with go without getting hateful we wouldn't have to have Rule #3, but since people feel they have to hate things they don't agree with it can go south quickly.

An adult is someone who is 9,467,280 minutes old, it’s a magical transformation they are minors who are incapable of reasonable or rational thought, choices or actions at 9,467,279 and 59 seconds.
My odd humor aside the culture in the United States tends to produce self centered people who are polarized in any one direction.
It’s a learned behavior.

+1   I have been avoiding the thread,.. but that pretty well sums it up. If people were not trying to take gun rights away,... we would not need to fight for them. I detest politics for (only) politics sake and detest corruption and fraud. If caught,... hang em' out to dry. That is it for me.
