The DIANAs kick, no doubt about it, BUT the small, light rear sight presents a small enough inertia that, as long as you use the two screws and use some locking compound, you will be good.
On another note, i already commented how solid the 48 feels, jibing (should use JiVING) with the time-tested quality of this model. One part that I'm not quite so sure is the cocking lever. Grabbing it, it seems almost flimsy, in that I could twist it bad with a hefty sideways push or pull, or even break it off. My break-barrels seem bulletproof in comparison, outside the range of muscle-induced damage. Sure enough, the few Youtube videos on the 48 there are have more than a few comments saying: "I have a 48 but the cocking lever doesn't work anymore."
So, I have to disagree with your assessment. The linkage rod IS the weak link, but the lever . . .Let me put it this way:I have replaced at least 20 linkage rods over the years.
If you could direct me to the links you found complaining about the lever, I would greatly appreciate it.
