Do not say you were not told.

?,.... been watching OAN, NEWSMAX and FOX all day. I have seen nothing "lock and load" worthy. More like,.. "move on, nothing to see here" re-caps from the usual mass media.

This one might set a record for being locked... it appears already loaded.

No.
Lock and load...
It is from WWII..
With the M1 Garand you lock the action open and load the mono-clip holding 8 rounds of .30-06 with your thumb.
When you do you had better get your thumb out of the way because the action is closing, and closing fast.

Oh yeah,  The US Navy was still using M1 Garlands when I was in the Navy. We had to disassemble it and reassemble it.  I do remember stern warnings about "M1 thumbs". I made it a point to get my thumb clear before the action slammed shut.
We used 1903's for marching and exercise. Those '03's were as rugged as a train rail! They weighed 9+1/4 pounds without a scope.

Woops. Didn't mean to draw us close to a growling. But now I now.

I could relate it to a CFX. Lock the cocking lever closed -- open the breach and load.
