Made oxtail stew yesterday
Morels you say?'tis the season!
For whatever reason, this has been the best year in a long time
Bone in meat, fish or fowl is the best. And the parts closest to the bones are the best. My sister and I fight over the roasted turkey or chicken necks. She wants them for soup, I want to eat them as soon as they come out of the oven.

Turkey carcass soup! My sister comes to our house every thanksgiving. The day after she always makes turkey soup. It takes her pretty much all day. She cooks each vegetable ingredient separately in the turkey broth and carefully strains them out when they are done and combines it all in the end. She insists that each ingredient has an optimal cooking time and it's best to cook them separately.
6oz double patty, double bacon & cheese hamburger with fries lunch in the car. It was great and a lot food.

Smoked pastrami on white bread with a side of potato salad. It was so good 😊 it melted in my mouth, tender & great flavor too. Eaten in the car at the park. All restaurants are dine out only here in Montréal QC.
So I crock potted a beef tongue. Spiced up the broth with some basics; garlic, red pepper, black pepper, cummin, worcestershire sauce hot chili oil and probably some other stuff I already forgot. Of course if you have the crockpot going it would be crazy to not throw in a bunch of onions, carrots and potatoes. Anyways the tongue came out pretty good but not fabulous. I'll have to figure out the magic spice combo. But I got to say tongue makes for fantastic sandwiches. Lightly toasted artisanal baguette, garlic mayo, slices of warm but not hot tongue, lots of pepper and a little salt. Wow-yummy. I'll be making those again. My wife refused to even try it.
