Title: Really nice and clear 4.5-27x50 scope worth trying-
Post by: Doyle on April 08, 2021, 07:52:01 PM
Sign up for email notice and join the rewards program before ordering to possible get it for even cheaper.

It's clear and bright with very comfortable eyebox all the way to 27x unlike many other (popular well known overpriced) Chinese made scopes costing up to 4x - 5x this price. Eye friendliness is simply unmatched regardless of its seemingly cheap price compared to other more popular overpriced brands of Chinese made scopes. HAS a lifetime warranty from a company who truly cares about its customer satisfaction. Said company also owns DAR airguns.

They aren't mandating MAP Pricing so the sellers can sell them as Cheap as they like and probably prefer volume sales at lower profit rather than 100% markup typically from MAP dealer pricing like other more well known popular brands who still make a profit selling them for half price.

I really believe everyone should at least own ONE Alpha6 4.5-27x50 to use as a baseline to expect other more expensive (costing over $200) scopes should follow in regards to glass clarity and whiteness and brightness (no yellow tint typical of Chinese glass) at 27x power.
Disappointed buying other more expensive brands of scopes costing way more not even clear at their max power. It simply ain't right.

Other places that this scope goes on sale from time to time BudK ($16 ups shipping flat rate order 1 or 100 same shipping price plus 99 cents for insurance) and Extreemtactical (free shipping takes a long time to ship sometimes one week while other times like 3 weeks) and Optics Planet (you wait a while likely several weeks) and worst case scenario highest price from Ebay typically $229 with free ship.
If they sold for $599 I don't think anyone would grumble based on its clearer than the Aztec Emerald and Vortex Diamondback Tactical Strike Eagle and VIPER PST and most Athlons that aren't the Japan Cronus and Hawkes that aren't Frontiers and Optisans and Elements that aren't the Japan Nexus and $659 MTC VIPER PRO it literally smokes the $659 VIPER PRO 5-30x50 past 20x. It also smokes most Discovery scopes too like the $399 34mm HD 5-30x56 past 18x literally leaves it in the dust side by side glass clarity comparison.
I have yet to find its relabeled under a different brand twin and it sure ain't Discovery or Tac Vector or Westhunter nor Marcool because the Alpha6 has nicer glass than them.

I prefer the Alpha6 over the $699 Japan SWFA SS 3-15x42 and all $299 Japan Fixed power SWFA SS and the Japan Bushnell TAC 4.5-30x50 (not clear at max 30x power) that's on clearance typically for $599-$650 that retails for $1400+. It's the former Bushnell 6500. I no longer purchase these Japan SWFA SS nor Bushnell side focus Japan TAC 4.5-30x50 scopes that used to be my go to scopes b4 discovering the Alpha6.
I have become extra critical of scope glass at maximum power as well because of the Alpha6 especially of it cost more than $200. It's a rip off if they aren't clear ar max power when paying more than $200 for any scope.

AJ,

There are a couple of things I couldn't easily find that would be really important. What is the eye relief? What is the minimum focal distance? What's the field of view (at what distance)? What's the exit pupil? What are the elevation and windage adjustment ranges? Is the zero adjustable? What are the adjustment increments?

Thanks
Kevin

Good info here on more detailed specs.
I also like the Alpha6 a lot better than my old Bushnell Forge 4.5-27x50 that cost between 4x - 5x more. It's 1/10 mil per click.

https://www.opticsplanet.com/aim-sports-inc-alpha-6-4-5-27x50-30mm-riflescope-with-mr1-mrad-reticle.html (https://www.opticsplanet.com/aim-sports-inc-alpha-6-4-5-27x50-30mm-riflescope-with-mr1-mrad-reticle.html)

It's like one of the nicer scopes you look through and get wowed by how bright and clear it is with no eye fatigue. It's first impression was like looking through a Leupold you will see what I mean.

Forgot 2 mention the Alpha6 illuminated reticle is daytime visible bright too at its highest setting. Can't say that about most other scopes even my March and Nightforce and Kahles and Sightron SIII among others just to name a few I have can't see their illumination during the daytime. That's worth grumbling about 4sure-!

Thanks, I'm not currently in the market for an airgun scope, but at that price, I may just buy one and put it on one of my air rifles to play with when my Drs. clear me to start shooting again. I wish I could figure out the adjustment ranges, but again at that range it would be more than likely still workable with an adjustable zero.

I appreciate the heads up.

What kind of air rifle have you tested it on? I only have two. I'm kinda new to the owning my own air rifles so I only have the two in my signature. When it warms up and the Drs. release me I plan to do a bunch of shooting between 50 and 100 yards with the Marauder. That's where the elevation adjustment becomes real important. If it isn't enough, I have to hold over (my current situation). Be nice to have a scope that would adjust zero at ?yards and then dial in at 100 yards with no hold over.

I've added this to my cart for the next purchase I make as I would really like another long range scope but one I'm not paranoid about smacking a tree with.

Thank you Doyle, for posting these.

Very large eye box and clear all the way to max magnification.  Turrets a bit mushy but great compared to the 80$ scopes I'm used to. It is a little large and heavy to put on a light hunting rifle.  I did it anyhow and am happy with it though top heavy. Better suited for target or bench shooting. Clear and bright. Only scope I have that's better is a barra 50  3-15×50. But the rest of my scopes are cheaper centerpoint and it's. Its forsure a step up in quality.

I can say it's glass is nicer than most sub $1200.00 Chinese made scopes labeled under well known widely recognized and popular brands of scopes.

It should be used as a reference for other scope brands to follow in regards to sheer optical clarity, brightness, and pleasant eyebox and clear all rhe way to maximum power when paying more than $200.00 for ANY BRAND AND OR MODEL SCOPE.

I have one on my Ataman M2R and Daystate Redwolf and Pulsar and FX Impact that I use to shoot home made Corbin slugs out to 200 yards. I have them in other guns as well too many to list and will replace mainly the Hawkes Optisans MTCs Vortexs Aztecs Athlons Bushnell Forges whatever else scope I have with not as nice glass as the Alpha6.

I do own other brands of scopes such as March, Kahles, Zeiss, Nightforce, Tract, Leupold, Crimson Trace, Barra, Japan Sightron Bushnell and Weaver and SWFA among the not so great overpriced lower end widely accepted more popular brands of scopes.  I like to try all brands and models and compared cheap to expensive to see which select few are actually worth keeping since I return most of the scopes that simply aren't clear at max power what's the use eh if it arn't clear all the way-?

Thanks for the tip! I actually have one on the way now... ::)

Seems as I get older my need for magnifying power grows...and I mostly only bench shoot anyway. 8)

just crank that puppy to max 27x see how bright and clear it really is. You will definitely get spoiled after looking through it. I can see ants crawling on the targets at 100 yards. Can't say that about most other scopes short of spending buku bux.

The only Chinese made scope I compared this One to that actually kept up and nudged it in optical greatness is the new H7 Hawke Frontier but that's a $1000+ scope we talking about here. The Alpha6 eyebox and sight picture is still better though. You should see comparing it to the $799.00 Element Titan there was NO comparison the Alpha6 literally smoked it comparing side by side both at 25x.

Are these scopes magnum springer rated?

They are NOT springer rated by the mfg.
Mine is holding up well on my HW95 @14 FPE, but I like it too much to try it on the Crossman. Actually I just gave my Crossman to a neighbor anyways.

Well I could not resist any longer with the praise given for these scopes by all you enablers here. ;D ;D

I just ordered one to give a try on my mutant which has a BSA 4x14x44 scope on it now but really deserves a higher magnification scope on it to fully utilize its long range potential. If this scope is as clear at full power as you all state it is then 100 yard groups should be much better if I can do my part.

Now the wait begins.

You are in for a nice surprise if you compare the Alpha6 to the BSA 4-14x44 (that's not even clear at 14x).

Be advised it could take up to 3 weeks due to the USPS slow taking their sweet old time nowdays.

The only plus the BSA has is its a FFP scope other than that I fully agree its not clear at 14x. It was a 99 buck special several years ago when it was being discontinued so cant complain much.

I am looking forward to the Alpha 6 if its truly as nice as you say it is for the price. I am used to snail mail slow shipping so am in no rush as long as it is not lost or damaged by the could care less postal workers. But then it seems no one is accountable for anything these day as well. I guess the new norm in Merica. :(

ARRIVED.

INSTALLED.

And she's a beaut!!!

I took so much time mounting and picturing her that I ran outta time to actually shoot her! But yes, ultra clear and bright like Doyle says, plus I have never had a scope come with such a comprehensive and instructive owner's manual, seems like many pages...relatively speaking.

One thing I noticed is that although it is a bit heavier than most of the mid-grade (okay, cheapie) scopes I have, it is not a burdensome weight, instead more like a feeling of solid heavy duty quality. And she's shorter than even some of my lower powered scopes...(not counting the included sunshade of course).

Here she is sitting proudly atop my Wildcat...

Thank you Mike the one thing I must say is the vendor is indeed a liiittle slow to ship but once on its way then only the post office can be blamed for additional delays (which I also had) but well worth the wait upon arrival.

10 yards to infinity.
Its one of the clearer and whiter brighter scopes money can buy ckear all the way to max 27x power regardless of its relatively cheap price.
It actually beats a lot of way more expensive scopes in optical glass quality department.

You guys gomma know what I mean once you look through one. You gonna probably feel really ripped off spending 4x to 5x the cost on your other well known popular scopes (of Chinese origin) once you compared the glass side by side at max power with this 4.5-27x50 Alpha6..

For those who didn't look at the Optics Planet specs, they say 26.5 ounces for those of you who take weight into consideration but considering the 30mm tube and the side focus/IR knob, that weight should be expected. Like most, they also never say whether that weight is with or without the included sunshade and lens covers. Wish they'd add that bit of info...lol.

I have 3 friends that compared the Alpha6 side by side to their $999 Vortex Viper PST Gen2 and $799 Element Titan and $849 Athlon Ares BTR that said they liked the Alpha6 glass better. They told me after looking through their  Alpha6 for the first time they could see why I made the reference to sorta like looking through a Leupold in the whiteness brightness wow factor. I currently have the Bushnell Forge (twin to the Athlon Ares born in the same China  factory as the Athlon Ares at a much cheaper price) and like the Alpha6 glass better.

I have another scope glass affectionado friend who compared the cheapie Alpha6 to his Zeiss and couldn't believe it. He purchased more Alpha6 scopes after that.

I was really lucky coming across my first Alpha6 in my quest to find the best bang 4 the buck glass in a 6 fold magnification such as this one. The sheer value became prevalent as soon as I did a side by side with my Bushnell Forge 4.5-27x50 that doesn't even have a 10 yard focus (the Forge and $849 Athlon Ares have 25 yard minimum focus).

I did come across a bunch of losers from other brands including purchasing from Aliexpress that weren't clear at max power that I thought were cheaper copies of the Alpha6 and boy was I dead wrong about them. They were even worse than the Discovery.

Just shot 54 pellets (18-shot mag x 3) through a WC3 and the scope is everything Doyle says it was. Crisp, bright and - amazingly - crystal clear focus down to 10 yards at 10x, I was silencer testing from 25 yards so did not shoot at 27x magnif. although I did look through it at that power, magnificent view IMHO, even out near the edges.

I have a JSAR 4.5-27x50 on my Mutant shorty and thought MAN THIS IS A NICE SCOPE until I bought my first Alpha6 kinda bumped it off you know how it goes when you think somethings really GREAT until you find something else that's very similar that blows it away for cheaper.

Actually the JSAR 4.5-27x50 was the budget scope that started my never ending ongoing scope quest that nudged me to find the Alpha6.

I wanted to find the (ANY OTHER SPINOFF) BRAND that actually carried a LIFETINE WARRANTY.

In fact the glass is much nicer on the Alpha6 in comparison like how people thought the Alpha6 was a Discovery scope with a different label NOPE.  The Mostly 3 year Warranty Discovery scopes don't have as nice glass as the LIFETIME WARRANTY Alpha6.

I even tried the Aliexpress Marcool-Discovery spinoff and that one cost 2x as much as the Alpha6 and it's not even CLEAR all the way to max power.

I think they musta put the wrong glass in the Alpha6 by accident instead of putting cheap glass the factory accudentally put much better high tier glass in this one. Like putting Hawke Frontier or Athlon Ares ETR glass in a $200 scope by accident.

I received shipping notification yesterday afternoon at Ed emailing support and asking for status. They said due to backlog on orders it’s taking 5 to 7 days to ship. Why couldn’t they just say that to begin with???

I was actually thinking about getting one of these but the FB reviews of the place leave a bit to be desired. Thanks for the line on a seemingly cool scope though!

A seller on EBay sells them for $129 shipped.

So does BudK but you pay $16 for UPS shipping plus 99 cents insurance and state tax.

I don't know of anyone who got screwed by Extreemtactical other than the plastic bag they send them in and 3 week wait. EBay seller sends them in the plastic bag too but you pay an extra $20 in selling price difference.

Can you see ants crawling on your 100 yard targets with the current scopes you guys have-?
With the the Alpha6 I can.

SORRY TYPO THERE -!

NOT $129 SHIPPED IT'S $229 SHIPPED FROM EBAY.

The illumination is better than most illuminated scopes I compared the Alpha6 to.  Even in pitch black at the minimum setting it's BARELY VISIBLE and as the illumination clicks go up there's just enough fine tuning of the illumination as to not overpower the illumination effect in the dark unlike Leapers and other cheaper scopes.

Just cannot hold steady enough to get good sight picture with it not being on a gun. I do like it better than the BSA on the mutant for sure.

Just received my first amazon shipment late last week in a plastic bag.  Order was espresso machine de-scaler and some hardware.   The box, inside the bag, containing de-scaler concentrate was destroyed - surprised the plastic bottle was not punctured.

Plastic bag?   Pathetic.   I was ambivalent on the scope (due to weight and perhaps too much hype) - will cancel Monday since it's probably backordered.

Mine from extreem tactical came in a plastic outer shipping bag with a Aim Sport branded thick scope sized box with foam padding around scope body with foam padding at both ends of box. The scope itself was in a plastic bag with desiccant bag inside with scope and sunshade wrapped in foam as well. Packaged as well if not better than any other scope I have ever received.

I ordered on the 9th, received an update saying it was shipped on the 16th, but it still hasn’t been received by the Post Office, so I have no idea what’s going on. I sent an email today asking them to look into it, but haven’t received a response yet.

I ordered two other items as well, one on the 10th (scope rings) and one on the 13th (Houge Grips).  The grips ordered on the 13th arrived last Friday, the scope rings ordered on on the 10th arrived today. Still no scope though!

Needless to say, I’m not very impressed with the way the orders are handled.  First ordered last received does not instill the confidence to purchase anything else from them. Especially when the first order was the most expensive, and I have no idea if it’s ever actually left their store!

I sent a GTA member a free Discovery trigger group last December via USPS priority mail with tracking and shipped at local post office.  Figured it would take at most three days as we were both in Georgia.  Tracking said something like label has been created but not yet received by USPS.  What?  A few weeks later, the tracking info did not change but GTA member pm me telling he finally received.  "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds"... Yea, that's total BS!  I received an exception notification that an attempted delivery was made but I wasn't home.  I was home, it was raining and the item wouldn't fit in the mailbox, so the snowflake carrier just used that as an excuse to not get out of the truck!  They need to change that mantra because the current stock of PO Carriers are NOT living up to it, in any way!

Had that happen to me a few times while I was home and watching the PO carrier just put the regular mail in the mailbox and also a card that says 'sorry we missed you' and sometimes they put in a card that says "pick up at the Post Office because we missed you multiple times, which is total BS.

USPS got a lot worse when Covid started.  If the weather is not perfect they won't get out of the truck to bring you the package or leave it by the door if it does not fit you mailbox, and they will do the same with Certified/Registered mail.  They are using Covid as an excuse for everything now, but lazy carriers have always done that.  The quality and integrity of the carriers has dropped dramatically in the last 10 years.  They don't give a dang if they lie and inconvenience you.

That’s probably what’s happening with mine as well, it’s been sitting at the P.O. in CA awaiting acceptance for 9 days, so maybe I’ll see some movement tomorrow. Still no response from the vendor!  I wouldn’t be so concerned if the 2 cheap items I ordered after the scope hadn’t all ready been delivered!  Figures it the expensive one they are messing with!

If it hasn’t move by Friday and I haven’t heard from the vendor, I’m thinking about filing a dispute for the charge with the CC company. Maybe they will get their attention if the charge is reversed!

Paul - have you tried calling Extreem to ask wth is going on with the delay in shipping movement? Does your tracking just say "Label Created - USPS Awaiting Item"? That what mine says - if I don't see movement in a couple days, somebody at Extreem is going to get an earfull.

Mine says Shipment received, Package acceptance pending. It’s said this since the 16th. That’s why I fear it may have been misplaced, lost or stolen. The other 2 items only said this for a day or two at the most and them moved to the next location. I have not called, seems you always wait in hold forever now a days!  I may give them a call tomorrow and see if I can get through.

You are right but it seemed like 3 weeks to me since it showed awaiting fulfillment forever then label created and it finally arrived. Even my usps informed consent never showed it out for delivery on the day it showed up on my doorstep.

So, here's some info that explains somewhat why it's taking so long to receive some items from Extreem but as in Paul's case, doesn't make much sense.

Question
"What does “USPS, Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending” mean?"

Various Answers below but basically it means that until/whenever the Postal Service sorts through the truckload of stuff Extreem sent them and scans each individual package into the system, your package most likely isn't going to make any progress towards you.

"It means that the shipper transported a whole pallet or even truck load of parcels to the USPS receiving station and the bar code for the shipment was scanned but the bar code on your particular parcel in that shipment hasn’t been scanned yet (it may or may not be in the shipment even though the shipper says it is)."

"What this means is that the package was scanned by the postman upon pickup at the origin but the package hasn’t yet been scanned into the postal facility. There is a process known as “bulk acceptance scanning”. This is a method where a shipping company with lots of packages to ship in a day presents a single barcode for the postal pick-up truck to scan. The barcode represents all of the packages being sent in a single pickup. It’s a convenient way of not having to scan hundreds of packages individually. That single scan presents a file of tracking numbers to the post office. Those tracking numbers will have a status of “package received but acceptance pending” until the package has arrived at the post office and has been scanned in."

I called Extreme today and was pleasantly surprised that I got a human on the line within just a couple minutes!  I was told they have been having problems with that Post Office, and he said he would initiate a trace through the P.O., or as he put it, light a fire under their @$$!  I was also told if he didn’t see any movement in the next 24 to 48 hours, he would send me a replacement.  So, they may not be great at responding to e-mails or inquires placed through their website, but at least they answer their phone!  I guess I’ll wait and see what happens between now and Friday, and see if they are good to their word or just providing lip service.  I’m hoping they will do what they said they would do and I see some movement or they send me another.  Will keep y’all posted!

I tried to call them this morning but their website says their phone system is down for maintenance??? Sent them an email instead saying that USPS setting on Buyers shipments for ten days or longer before getting them moving is totally unacceptable and that Extreem needs to address this or find another more reliable shipper.

On Ebay, if you purchased seller's (ExtremeTactical) item today , shipping

Delivery:
Estimated between Mon. May. 10 and Tue. May. 11

Seller has about 1% negative feedback over six months and most of it is shipping related.  Could be much worse.

Paid more $$ on ebay but thought if issues, I could go crying to Ebay.  Seven more days till due for me?  No worries.   ;)

Paid more $$ on ebay but thought if issues, I could go crying to Ebay.  Seven more days till due for me?  No worries.   ;)

Did a search on ebay and could find no seller ExtremeTactical as you posted above. On their website, the spelling is Extreem Tactical but that doesn't turn anything up on ebay either.

Tried calling them in Whittier CA again this morning multiple times and each time got put on hold automatically to wait for someone. After about ten minutes, a recorded voice said no one was available and then hung up. This happened twice before I got "lucky" the 3rd time and a delightful guy named Mark answered.

I explained why I was calling and it had been two weeks since I had placed my order and had not received my scope. He started playing the Blame Game and then said they could cancel my order and refund me. I told him that I still wanted the scope that I purchased and that the delays were not acceptable. After nearly 10 minutes of grousing & passing the buck, He finally offered to contact the Postal Service and put a trace on my shipment so hopefully something will come from that.

Based on the poor interaction I had with him, it is EXTREEMly unlikely that I will ever purchase from them again. The thought of having to deal with them should the scope require warranty service is not a happy one...

My scope arrived today.  I was packaged well in a sealed box.  So far, it looks good.  The AEA Challenger is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, so it will be mounter on that and then we'll see how it goes.

After I called and they initiated the trace, it took just about 24 hours before it started to move and was delivered 3 days later.  Hopefully, you will see it soon!

Yep, Paul - in my case it took 12 hours for the trace to kick things in gear as m ine got scanned in last night a little before 11 and is now estimated to be delivered this Friday.

Anyone that is experiencing similar delays from Extreem should call them & request a Trace be put on their order to get it moving. Attempting to contact them via their website messaging form or by email is useless as I tried both and heard nothing but crickets after days of waiting for a reply.

The thing that irked me the most in dealing with Mark yesterday is that he eventually acknowledged the issue with the delay but just didn't seem to care that it wass happening. I guess getting/spending a customer's hard earned money is most important for him...

Good deal Paul!  Please report back after you mount it and zero it, or post a review in the Optics Review gate.

if you buy 3 they are $206.99 from this seller .... group buy in ! ? for cheaper price for GTA !  with fast shipping ! we should contact this seller and see if we can make it happen ...

update -i just sent the seller a message and gave him a link to this thread , and I asked him for the 206.99 price for our members , so we get the scope shipped fast .. let's see what happens  ;D

I could be mistaken but I think Aimsports, DAR Air Rifles, and Extreem Tactical are all part of the same Company. If that's the case, the "4 Day Shipping" will probably be more like 3 week shipping.

Waiting on a 20 MOA piccatinny rail to come in for my mutant so I can mount the scope on it and test out the 100 yard capabilities of this scope. It supposed to be here Friday so will try to get it mounted and sighted in ASAP and report back on its performance.

Got a notice this morning that my scope is in Austin and out for delivery, so tomorrow looks like I'll have it in my stinking hands, ordered on 17th April,  been in uses limbo in California since the 20th ,never called extreem tac ,didn't think it would do any good.I live about 70 miles north of Austin so probably 2 days to get here, at least it moved, was beginning to get worried.

So, tried calling Extreem and got the good old automated shuffle again. After being on hold for near 10 minutes, auto-annie came on, said no one was available to answer my call and hung up.

Called the manufacturer, Aim Sports, back and got someone in CS. They said because I didn't purchase directly from them, for $393.29, that I would have to pay to ship the defective scope back to them and they would inspect it and send me a replacement. Guess I'll pay the $12 and deal with them as they said they would expedite the replacement.

Beats having to deal with that a-hole Matt at Extreem... ::)

Well what do you know , USPS didn't lie, the scope came today. Box had a little damage but scope was fine , this thing is built like a tank , the rectical is a little too thin for my taste but it will do, the illuminated rec is not too over powering and there's a off position between each brightness setting , I like that a lot,  just looking through it without mounting ,it does indeed focus down to 10 yards and is clear to the edges at max mag , time will tell if it holds up, thanks for the heads up Yo.

Joe Musser, the Customer Service Manager at Aim Sports, said if found defective, the replacement would be a brand new unit that he himself would fully test before sending it out to me. Cost me $16.50 for Priority Mail Insured shipping but dealing with Joe has been a pleasure whereas that probably wouldn't have been the case with Extreem, had I been able to get in contact with them. ::)

Well my 20 MOA mount is taking the scenic route from Utah to Alabama via South Carolina and North Carolina after arriving in Georgia first thanks to good ole FedEx and their lousy service. It was supposed to be here today but now shows no current delivery date.

So no mounting and zeroing the new scope for me anytime soon.

Seems to be the standard shipping process.   Sitting in a basket or on a pallet for 2.5 times the actual shipping transit time once accepted.    ::)

First, I will say everyone has a right to work or run a business.   And I respect E.T. ownership for running a small business.

But this shipping process (E.T. and USPS) is so weak, I jut had to lookup the shipping address on google maps because I though E.T might be using a drop-shipping process.   There is a view of the business being run in a residential area.   And one of the principals is flipping off the good camera van.

Regarding the scope; I was not able to get the order cancelled (as I previously mentioned was my intent).   As some have mentioned contacting and communicating with E.T. is difficult at best.   So the order shipped - 5 or 6 days in a basket or on a pallet, and only 2 days to actually ship 1100 miles.

The scope itself is fine.   Smooth controls.   The reticle is too fine for me - I prefer the Athon Talos BDC reticle size.

Craig at first I had to agree about the reticle. But I had received the scope a few weeks ago and since then I had cataract lens replacement on my right (shootin') eye. So fortunately for me right now it is crystal clear now (but it took a eye operation for me to see it!)...

If you are looking for a Tactical Gear and Firearms Accessories supply store with prices that cant be beat, then look no further. Extreem Tactical offers a wide range of name brand Tactical Gear, Optics and Firearm Accessories at affordable prices.

I assume it is one and the same...

Paul how do you like this scope ? did you put it on the Challenger ?

I mounted it on the Challenger and then took it off and put the ATN 4K Pro on it.  I was hoping to see a rat and introduce him to .30 cal!  I am also seeing a Coyote on the trail cams more frequently, the latest being last week around 8:30 in the evening.  I'm thinking of grabbing a live trap and see if I can catch a rat and use it to lure in the Coyote and get rid of him before he starts eating the neighborhood pets!  I would love to catch that on video!  But, to answer your question, I liked what I saw when it was mounted!  I need to put it back on and zero it to see how it does.

Well my 20MOA rail is supposed to be here tomorrow so I can finally get my alpha 6 mounted on my mutant and see how I like the scope. It went on the scenic route all around the southeast before it got to Alabama.

I want my 10 dollars back also. I wonder if they will price match their own sale offer.

I  mounted the alpha 6 on my bullpup challenger, seems to live up to all the hype,  the rectical is too thin ,but l'm getting used to it ,the illumination at the highest setting helps if shooting at a dark target, just have to remember to turn it off, I forgot and several hours later it was still on , so extra batteries are on my shopping list.

Yall are such a bad influence on me as well, just couldn't pass up $199.99 for the Alpha 6 either as I need one last scope (famous last words) for my DAR .25 project.

I was in danger of getting a pan up-side the head until I showed her the pix of the pesting I've done this past week and explained the plan for the DAR, then the neighbor called telling us to be on the lookout for bear... Pretty sure I could have bought a bazooka at that point with no brow-beating!  ;D

Momma packed heat this morning feeding the birds, I feel sorry for any bear that wanders into our yards while she is working.  ???

I just grabbed another one. I got the 5-15X50 Alpha 6 for $179.95.  It was $209.95, but today they have a coupon code (FD2021) for $10 off $100; $30 off $200; $60 off $300; $100 off $400 (buy 2 and get $50 off each one) and $150 off $500.  I'm pretty sure the code will work for the 4.5-27X50 as well.

Received my pristine replacement 4.5-27X50 from AIM Sports today, one day shy of 30 days since ordering from Extremely Slow Tactical. Going to mount it up on my Sentry 705 .22 in place of a BSA 4-14X44 FFP.

If anyone wants Butler Creek flip-up covers for their 4.5-27 Alpha 6, I measured with a dial caliper and came up with the following. Eyepiece - 1.73 inches - Butler Creek #MO20190. Objective - 2.28 inches - Butler Creek #30400. If you have Amazon Prime, that's the best price I could find at $8.99 each.

"Extremely Slow Tactical"  ;D ;D Thanks for the flip-up cover research, I'll probably end up buying those.

Mine took a little over 3 weeks to get here. I'm pleased overall, but like others have said I find the reticle a bit too fine. In fact I ended up needing the IR because I lost the reticle in the dark part of the target, and I don't ever remember having that problem before with other scopes. It's almost like it was supposed to be FFP but someone messed up, and that's why they're selling them so cheap.

And maybe I was just having a brain-dead moment, but at first I couldn't figure out how to operate the turrets. I even read the manual first! The turrets aren't quite as smooth to operate as I had hoped, but it's possible I caused that myself trying to figure out how to work them.

I ordered 2 sets of flip caps from AliExpress, they should arrive in a couple months!   ;D  $15 for 2 complete sets, so I can wait...  I had a hard time with the turrets at first also, it's because the manual doesn't really explain how to use the turrets on these scopes!  I had to watch a video to figure out you have to pull them out to turn them.  Mine turn easy enough and have a good solid click when adjusting, but pulling them out takes a bit of effort and then when pushing them back in, it's almost like you have to fiddle with them and slightly twist the turrets while pushing to get them to lock back down.  Other than that, I'm pretty happy with it and have not found the reticule to be too fine.

That's pretty much exactly how my turrets behave, they turn and click okay but it's a lot of effort to get them in and out and you have to fiddle with the turret to get it to lock back down. Glad to hear it's not something I did. I might get used to the reticle and end up liking it, time will tell.

If you ordered from Extreemly Slow Tactical, 6-10 days later you will get a email saying your order has shipped. Your tracking info will then say "Shipment received, Package acceptance pending" for up to two weeks. Your best bet is to call EST and hope someone answers the phone as they do not seem to reply to voicemail/email. If you luck out and get someone, demand that they put in a trace on your order with USPS. Once that occurs, your order should begin to move.

Well finally got my 20MOA rail from PA after its travels throughout the southeast. Got it mounted on my mutant today along with the alpha 6 scope and will be getting it sighted in some time this week. Going to sight in for 100 yard zero and use holdover/unders for any other ranges since the mutant is my most accurate long range gun.

I don't find the reticle to fine so far just looking thru it but will have better opinion after actual shooting and sighting in. Myself I like the turrets being a bit difficult to lock and unlock for adjustments since I know they cannot be bumped or easily knocked out of adjustment unintentionally.

Yep will take 2 to 3 weeks from slow tactical to arrive for those that have recently ordered one.

About a week or so for ET to decide to ship, nearly a week for the "Shipping label created" package to end up in USPS possession, two days for USPS to deliver.   (My experience - others may vary slightly)

I think they wait until they have a full pallet of orders ready to ship, then drop the pallet off at the local P.O., which they admit has a history of giving them plenty of grief.   The P.O. then misplaces the orders until the consumer gets upset and contacts EST about the status of their order.  They, in-turn, light a fire under the less than stellar P.O. workers by filing a trace on the shipment.  The P.O. then reluctantly finds the misplaced order and sends in on it's way.  This process takes about 3-4 weeks, once it leaves the originating P.O. it only takes 2-3 days for it to be delivered!  That is my experience!  :P

If you haven't received notification from EST that your order has shipped and then the tracking results showing that USPS is in possession of the shipment, calling and demanding a trace be initiated won't do any good. Be prepared to be fed a line of BS no matter what you say to them.

Well got some time to shoot my mutant today but only a 25 yards in back yard and do like the fine reticle a good bit but it does get lost in the black of the targets easily. It track very well and is clear all the way to full magnification as compared to the BSA 4x 14 scope I had on the mutant. Turning the mag up to 25 and sighting in on pine cones in a tree out at 92 yards in the field behind the house gives a much nicer image and clear view if the pine cones compared to the 14 mag of the BSA so I think I will be happy with this scope once I get it fully zeroed at 100 yards and figure my hold overs for distances under 100 yards.

I thought stigmatism issues affected use of optics like Red Dot sights, not scopes?

Indeed, astigmatism can mess with reticles so corrective glasses are needed to keep both vertical and horizontal lines in focus.

Go to AGN and P. M. rc4fun.  He is printing wheels for that scope.  They are available in different colors, with or without finger bumps. He is a super nice guy and his product is priced VERY reasonable. You'll like them.

Yes I bought two black ones (he makes them in a variety of colors), one small w/bumps and one medium with smooth outer ring. But the medium does not fit my scope setup since the ring nuts protrude out too far but the small fits just fine.

The 50mm objective lens makes the tube look a little smaller in the pics.  On scopes with 1" tube and 50mm obj.lens it makes it look like 3/4" in the pics or from a distance until you get up close or hold it in your hand.

FYI - on the Butler Creek #30400 2.25 inch Objective Cover, I had to heat some water to boiling in the Microwave and soak the cover to get it to fit - and it is a very tight fit. The next size up is their #30430 which is sized at 2.310 inches which MAY be a better fit or may be a hair loose, possibly requiring a wrap of electrical tape to snug up.

So all of you who received the scope, how is it?  Are the turrets crisp? Do they repeat when doing a box test or dialing in different ranges?
Are they on par with the high end scopes listed in the beginning or is it a really good scope for the money??
All most seems too good to be true.  I just ordered a new rifle and need a scope and wanted a FFP but after reading this thread I now back on the fence.

I like it, a lot!  So much so, I ordered another one, but in a lower magnification.  I have not tested the accuracy of the turrets returning to zero, but they do have a well defined click.  They are a little tough to lock and unlock, but that will probably improve with use.  But, for the money, I think it's a great deal!

Thanks Paul.  I like to hear what fellow shooters that paid for their equipment think.  The Youtube videos are great but sometimes misleading.
My current scope is a Leapers UTG 3-9x40,  Nice scope and the return to zero is accurate.  Turrets are ok but not as crisp as i would like.  I do a lot of dialing in with my yardage changes.  I fine I am more accurate that way verses holdover.  Just wanted to step up my optics on my new gun I have ordered without breaking the bank.  Was looking at the element helix FFP before this thread caught my eye.

I ordered mine on the 13th so only 6 months to go till I get it! 🤣😂😅😆😁
So did I ...  I called them today ,and they said it will be shipped out tomorrow...... kind of a strange way to do bizz wait a week then ship it out ???  but at the price I payed I will wait for hope-fully the reward of waiting to buy waiting on the shipping ....  ::) ;D :P ;D :-[ :o ;D......  ;)

Looks like I need to make a call. ..

I most likely will not order again from these guys from listening to the response on the phone I got from them when questioning their slow shipping ...

Our clubs benchrest match is this Saturday so I will be able to sight my mutant with the alpha 6 scope on it out to 100yards to really get an idea of if it was worth the money since my main purpose in buying was to be able to shoot more accurately at 100 yards with the higher magnification than the 14 power BSA scope I had on it.

I hope the winds are not to gusty so I can wring it out and maybe get some MOA groups out of my mutant at 100 yards. Now just got to do my part with breathing and heart beat control.

Will report back.

Aj the scope is listed as 30mm but some pics looks like 1" to me. . Is the info correct, is it definitely 30mm?

The 50mm objective lens makes the tube look a little smaller in the pics.  On scopes with 1" tube and 50mm obj.lens it makes it look like 3/4" in the pics or from a distance until you get up close or hold it in your hand.

Thank you

If this is Extreem Tactical, .... BEWARE!. I placed an order for a scope on April 14th, credit card charged April 16th, received tracking number on April 21st. On May 15th it still showed Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending, I emailed them for the third time on May 16th and received a return email that my order had been cancelled and that my credit card would be refunded in 12 to 24 hours. As of today still no refund. I called my credit card company today to dispute the charge.

Something is not right about this company. Google their address and do a street view of their business.

I don’t know if it’s them or their local Post Office. If it’s the Post Office, they need to find another carrier!  If it’s them, then they need a new business model!!!   :P

There is something a little off about this whole situation. The posts from the OP for this and the other Extreemly Slow scope deal sounded like an infomercial, and he said from the beginning that shipping would take 3 weeks because of slow USPS. But it's weird that shipping seems to take almost exactly 3 weeks- like if you know this why wouldn't you do something about it? That being said, I got my scope in a little over 3 weeks and am happier with it each time I use it, and my credit card hasn't been frauded yet.

So they have slow shipping, bad communication, a good website, good prices and quality items. And according to the OP a good return policy, although a return policy is only as good as the ability to get in touch with someone to put that return policy into effect. Overall, quite odd, IMO.

Looks like you may have three different things wound up in the same ball. Doyle probably has nothing to do with Extreeme but smooth talked his way into some alleged poor behavior, there is a thread on that.

Extreeme indeed is extreemly slow in shipping as you say, better come prepared.

Warranty is being handled by the parent company of the DAR airguns, Aim Sports, not Extreeme.

It's both.   ET does not get paid-orders to USPS for a week or more.   USPS does not acceptance-scan for 4-5 days.   USPS delivered my scanned package in 2 days (Colorado).

I've ordered from them before and it took three weeks. I was very happy with my scope but there was absolutely no packing in the plastic shipping envelope.
On this order after a month of waiting my order was canceled.  Now I'm just waiting for my refund.  So hopefully my experience is not the norm.

Me too but after a month,  I emailed them and they canceled the order. This is just my third time to deal with them. First time it took three weeks after I got a tracking number stating waiting for acceptance,  next time it was two weeks.  This time they just over-sold I'm assuming.  I'm wondering if they don't actually have the items on hand but wait to order the products after they sell them and then they order. That way they would have to wait for the product to be shipped to them, then when they receive the item they ship it out to those who placed orders.

I ordered from Dvor, was $240 to my door, shipped from Optics Planet, double boxed (loosely) and had it in 5 days. It seems that may not be the norm, but the few times I’ve ordered from them, it’s taken less than a week.

Are they affiliated with ET?  If so I wonder if they use the same P.O.?  It seems to me they arrive at the P.O. In Whittier, CA and then sits until they initiate a tracer on the shipment.  That’s what happened with the last scope I ordered from them. If I have to call again to get this one moving, I’m going to tell them I’ll unfortunately be purchasing elsewhere because having to call every time to get an item moving through the P.O. Is unacceptable.

Well I just ordered another scope from the fleabay seller for 199.95 but with tax it came to 215.95 shipped so it was actually 5 bucks more than the first one from ET that did not charge tax.

It shows a delivery date of June 3rd to the 5th so that much faster than ET if it arrives when stated. I did have issue last night trying to order it and paying with PayPal credit but got it to go thru today without issue. Seen in another thread that fleabay had divorced PayPal but that's all I use on fleabay and other than last night have never had an issue paying with PayPal.

I like the scope on my mutant so ordered another one, it did not work out to sight the one on my mutant in at 100 yards this past weekend.  So when I get that done will update on how it went and works for 100 yard shooting.

I just got off the phone with extremely slow tactical , and yes they are the same company that is selling on ebay , but the guy said that is a different department , so it appears they are not getting away with this slow shipping insanity on ebay ,and they are shipping out fast on ebay because they can't get away with doing that bad business practice on ebay ...  so order off ebay or loose your mind !  ::)

and as usual they have now put a trace on my scope just like everyone else , so now I don't feel left out of the shipping insanity club !  ::)... ;D... ;)

I've been waiting for delivery for almost four weeks , finally called them yesterday (Thursday) .
Their response was
" Oh really , we sent that out two weeks ago , funny thing is I have no tracking number , well , I'll send you another one tomorrow ."
Do I believe they sent it out two weeks ago .... Nope
Unless it's an item I can't find anywhere else , I don't foresee me buying from them in the future .

I just called EST and spoke to CS, they are going to put a trace on my shipment and said if I didn’t see any movement in a day or so to call back and they’ll send a replacement. I had to laugh when the guy said this happens with every one in 80 orders!  I said, yea, what are the odds my last order was 80 orders ago because I had to call to get that one moving also!  He did thank me for my sense of humor and wished me a happy Memorial Day!

I really have to wonder if EST holds them at the PO on purpose waiting on folks to forget about them, or is that PO really that bad about moving mail?

I've decided to put mine to a real test on my Thompson Center Compass .308. If it survives that, will probably get one for my Rem 700 Varmint .223 & Savage 17 HMR. On a related note, anyone ever ordered from www.budk.com? (http://www.budk.com?) They sell the Alpha 6 too.

My fleabay ordered scope is showing delivery of date of June 1st and was ordered on Monday the 25th so just over a weeks time frame at this point but then it is not in my hands yet either so we shall see if the tracking holds true. Fleabay shows delivery of June 3rd to 5th so if it gets here on the 1st it will actually be early.  :o :o ???

Yep I ordered mine on the 25th of May and should be here Tuesday, would be Monday if not for the holiday. Ebay sets strict delivery times that you get dinged for if not met without good reason. The only drawback on ebay is you pay tax versus no tax on the ET slow site.

I must be lucky !  ;D   The scope arrived , it looks ,and feels  pretty beefed up -  glass is very clear , reticle is pretty fine all lines are very thin ,  I don't have it on a gun yet , so as soon as that happens I will know better on what I think of it all together  ...

just taking the scope  out of the box , and checking it out so far it's a very impressive scope for sure ....   ;D ;D

Oh and it took 17 days with me calling them 5-6 days after ordering it , and having them put a trace on it .... 2 1/2 weeks !  :P ;D  hey ! ya know ... - that might be a new record for extremely slow tactical ....  ::)

My 2.5-15X50 Alpha 6 arrived today!  Same basic scope as the higher power, just lower power zoom.  Same clear, crisp glass, and it might actually be a couple ounces lighter.  I haven't mounted it yet, and don't know yet what I'll mount it to, but I'm sure it will find a new home soon!

Paul that is good to know that scope is the same high quality as the 27  power is , so we have another good option....

I have not had a chance to mount my scope  on a gun yet - to busy doing yard work on our 1.25 acre area to get it ready to sell in August I am hoping , then it's off to Arizona by Lake pleasant to live in the sun shine , and jet ski more , I am looking for property there that I can set up at least a 100 yard shooting range , and if I get lucky 200 yards ...  ;D ;D ;D

I just burned my large shooting back stop  :-[ ::) made of 4x6's and Douglas fir tree rounds   16 feet wide 8ft tall  for shooting here , hated to see it go but it is part of the clean up to sell the property ...   so I set up this heavy commercial steel truck work box tipped on it's side with the inside loaded with half rounds of douglas fir wood inside with some side plates to get me by till we move ...

we are also  tired of the long lasting bad weather winter in WA  state ,and the fact that the power's that be in WA  do not respect our second amendment rights ....

My first impressions of the Alpha 6 from Aim Sports has been pretty positive so far with clear glass and a very fine reticle. I have yet to find the mechanical center and set the scope on the receiver with the offset at zero so no box test yet but it's coming soon.

Right out of the box, I found a well packed and protected scope with foam protecting all sides. The bulk of the scope and apparent weight was daunting at first when I plucked it out of its cardboard coffin, It's much heavier than any other scope I own but it also has very beefy turrets and AO dial, so the bulk is not just thickness in the tubes but spent in hardware.

Setting it in 30mm rings, I leveled it and bore sighted it with zero adjustment to the dials. It seemed to be pointing dead center upon mounting so I took it to the shooting table and set an 8" circle target in front at 15y. The pellet sat 2" below and perfectly centered on the target, I cocked an eyebrow and smiled a bit as this may have been the best first shot ever from any scope I have ever owned.  I added the sun shade at this point.

Taking the gun back to 50 yards, I noticed some drift and drop but in 3 pellets I had a repeatable zero since the turrets seen to provide true 1/4 MOA adjustments per click. As the wind picked up, adjustment was easily accomplished by using the MRAD reticle or by twisting the turret. In my case, 8 clicks right dropped me right on bull as did holding over to the "1" at 50y.

For me, the reticle is nearly perfect, fine lines, a centered dot, nice quick-shot crosshairs done in rectangles at the edges of the glass for ease of target acquisition. Using a sight-in target, the center dot provided me with a beautifully aligned center bull and allowed me to 'shoot small' on target.

The adjustable objective as expected, proved to be of little use at 4.5 magnification, I could turn the wheel freely with no difference in clarity but at the full x27, the AO works very well and according to my range setup and distances, the AO clarity is spot on at 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards. My only complaint is the lack of any 'soft focus' in getting close enough to clear, this scope makes you fiddle with the wheel for full sharpness.

Glass clarity is good, much better than the toy scopes I see at Walmart and on Amazon but its certainly lacking at dusk and is not light hungry like many of the high end scopes. That said, I would equate the glass with a 600-700 dollar scope for scavenging light but really shines in 'whiteness' as in good overall full spectrum light coming through the scope without greyness typical of low end scopes.

The turrets were hard to pull up the first time but moved as expected after the first pull. They indexed well with each click, to tendency to double click or feel mushy when turned and seated nicely when pushed down to lock. The cap retainers spin off easily with the use of a coin or fingernail allowing for cap removal and zero, its painless and very refreshing for such an inexpensive scope.

The eye relief dial is as you would expect, it turned easily, focused sharply against a blue sky, stayed in place after it was adjusted. The eye relief distance is a little far for my taste as the DAR .22 has a very small section of 11mm dovetail for scope mounting. This is more a product of the DAR engineering and not a scope defect.

The magnification at 4.5 seems to be true according to my MIL target but as normal, the high end seems to have been exaggerated a bit and shows x21-x22 magnification at 100 yards, not the x27 advertised. Of course, this may be based on the manufacturers propriety scale and not a standard MIL dot target of 1" per dot, 36" across. I have seen similar differences in my other scopes.

Bottom-line for me is always the question: "Will I use this scope?" From the bench or support positions, YES! It is a pleasure to use. Walking about on a hunt? No, it's just too heavy and large for brush.

Do you have to deal with Dvor/OpticsPlanet or with AIM Sports directly?

With the defective one that I purchased from Extreemly Slow Tactical, I bypassed them to avoid hassles and contacted AIM Sports & dealt with them directly. Joe Musser, the Customer Service Manager at Aim Sports, said if found defective, the replacement would be a brand new unit that he himself would fully test before sending it out to me. Cost me $16.50 for Priority Mail Insured shipping because I didn't buy direct from them but dealing with Joe was a pleasure whereas that quite possibly wouldn't have been the case with Extreem, given their poor attitude towards Customer Service.

Mr Musser was true to his word and a new, fully tested replacement arrived back to me postpaid 7 days after I sent the original back.

I just pulled the trigger on an Alpha 6 based on reviews attesting of its clarity. After reading the posts regarding covers, I also ordered a pair of those.
Now, I have to order mounts/rings for that scope. After hearing and reading in multiple places that keeping the zero as close as possible to the optical center theoretically helps with clarity, I have a practical question for you Alpha 6 owners:
The scope having 30 MOA of adjustment, I presume I'll have enough 'clicks' to zero my scope properly, but do you think -or even better, know- if using 20 MOA mounts over regular 30 mm rings would make a noticeable difference in retaining clarity?

You’re in this way over my head, but you have my interest, so I’m going to follow along!  I have both my Alpha 6’s mounted with just regular ole medium height 30mm rings and both are really clear. I’m not sure I even understand what 20 MOA rings are!!!   :o

I’m not sure I even understand what 20 MOA rings are!!!   :o

These ring tilt the scope - up in the back, down in the front.   For very long range shooting, droop-barrel springers, and high rings that mount the scope too high for average distance shooting.

20 MOA is a long range adapter, or gives alot of fudge room if uncertain, most I typically go with is around 10 MOA and they are adequate for most air rifle shooting out to 100 + yard/meter.

On one more try....

Based on my ballistic calculator, a 15gr, .22, .08 BC pellet using the G2 drag function at 850 fps will drop 6.03" at 100 yards or 14.14 MOA.

The 20 MOA mount would be great but increase speed to 950 fps and its 10.71 MOA.

Thanks everyone for your input, especially David for churning out calculations.
My question was intended to be in relation to clarity at center (20 MOA mounts) vs compensating (0 MOA regular rings) more than anything else. Charlie, If it was an already answered question, I did miss it entirely. I'll check again. All I read was people lauding its overall clarity for its price range. Maybe I'm just over-complicating things.

Its all whether you are gong to mainly be shooting at distances under 75 or over 75 yards. Under and 20MOA mounts will be unnecessary to keep the reticle close to the center of adjustments providing your barrel has no droop. Over 75 and the 20MOA mounts will help keep reticle closer to center in scope, but as previously mentioned velocity and BC also play a part in trajectory's of a given projectile so still to many variables to give an educated answer.

On my mutant I have a 20MOA adapter since it is mainly a long range gun that I use for 75 plus yards so the added incline keeps the reticle close to center with 18.13 grain pellets at 880 fps.

YMMV.

LOL !  my second Alpha 6 scope just arrived !  from allgungoods ebay side of extremely slow tactical shipping  ::) , scope  looks good so far , I need to order a set of rings for this one , and I think buy the cover's from Aliexpress like Paul did would be nice .....  I am thinking about putting this one on my AEA challenger bullpup .303  32inch barrel - that gun is able to push a .303 82g bullet close to 1100 FPS at 4500 psi , 214 FPE  so it is a really good candidate for this scope  I think ... that combo should be able to reach out 250 -300 yards, and still be accurate I am hoping ....

That would definitely compliment the AEA! I think the .357 is going to be my next AG. You all are horrible enablers!  ;D ;)

David ...  LOL !  let me enable you some more !   I kinda like the bullpup better in this challenger series because the 32 inch barrel model shoulders better lighter weight feel than the 24 inch short model none bullpup  , and the fact that the 32inch bull pup with out moderator is about 6 inches shorter than the 24inch barrel none bullpup model ...even with the moderator on the bullpup that I am using the bullpup still wins the better balance lighter feel category , due to the action and barrel weight closer to your body ...

having said all of this the regular none bull pup is is pretty darn good also - amazing to a degree we can get these big bore's for this cheap that can shoot with 4500 psi if you want to , but honestly at 3500 psi they are a power house !   :o   here is a few pics of the guns you can see the new barrel band, and red shot tray  on the regular model on the 2 -3rd pics ...

One more thing you will notice on the bullpup is the the 2 billet barrel bands that support the barrel and the pic rail , on the standard version they use a dove tail mount and no barrel band unless you do like i did and by the one from Bison for 25 bucks and he has that shot tray for 15 bucks shipped free on both items ... Triggers are on the heavy side -  but if you polish up the mechs they get better for sure ...

bullpup is the .30  32inch barrel model ... the other is 24inch barrel model .357

YMMV.

BD

Thanks Mike.
I am using hold based on my side focus reading as a 'rangefinder'. My actual scope doesn't allow nearly as much hold as the Alpha will and I use it from 20 up to 75 yards, which is as far as the magnification allows me to shoot with confidence. I  presumed I'd do the same with the Alpha and zero it toward 60-80 yards, which should allow me to shoot at all ranges up to 110 yards.

It will be 4 mil dot holdover at 25 yards and 2 at 50 yards ETC. I rarely shoot over 100 yards so it will be nice to be able to hold dead on at 100 yards. With the added 20MOA rail on my mutant the reticle is almost perfectly centered in the scope.

Thanks so much for that one, Mike. You more than confirmed what I had in mind regarding zeroing.

You’re in this way over my head, but you have my interest, so I’m going to follow along!  I have both my Alpha 6’s mounted with just regular ole medium height 30mm rings and both are really clear. I’m not sure I even understand what 20 MOA rings are!!!   :o

Paul, I have no clue how I failed to see the important info you gave me.  I sincerely apologize for that; It was exactly what I was looking for along Mike's details. You do have great clarity even without 20 MOA cant. Can you let me know roughly at what distance you are zeroing your alpha 6 ?

I am still unsuccessful in my search for a 20 MOA solution for my Avenger, in a budget I find acceptable (meaning affordable).
What did you guys use as 20 MOA mounts/rings for your platforms?

My backyard range is 37 yards, so that what I have all my scopes zeroed too.  The maximum distance I shoot is 50 yards, but that's through a fence, so it's not something I do unless I have a rat in the crosshairs!   ;D

I just came in from tapping in 20 pellets from the DAR .25, shooting JSB King, 25.39 with the Alpha 6 at 50 yards and man-O-man, that little center dot along with X27 magnification changed my group dramatically. "Aim small, shoot small".

37 yards in your backyard, it's certainly nothing to sneeze at! I live out in the boonies, so I have some land, but it's not very flat.
The irony is that I'll very likely shoot in the same range as you for the most part, as it's a nice way to spend time with my kiddos, when it was a purely selfish hobby of mine in the past.
I'm still intent on trying 100 yards target shooting ASAP.

On my mutant I used the 20MOA rail from PA in this link. My mutant is already a piccatinny rail so the low profile alled me to use low mounts to keep the scope as low as possible over the barrel.

https://www.pyramydair.com/product/utg-super-slim-20-moa-elevated-picatinny-mount-13-slots-0-55-high?a=7703 (https://www.pyramydair.com/product/utg-super-slim-20-moa-elevated-picatinny-mount-13-slots-0-55-high?a=7703)

On your avenger since it has piccatinny rails but the mag is right in the center of rail it present a bit of an issue. Not sure it you can use the above linked 20MOA rail behind the mag or ahead of it, if not may need to look for some adjustable single mounts or can add a small shim under rear of scope to cant it in mounts. Business card or cut up soda can does pretty well as long as you don't over tighten the mounts. All I found for single mounts are the FX no limits mounts which are quite pricey for sure.

Thanks Mike for the link. That is a very good price for anything with 20 MOA!

The Avenger's dual rails are about 2 1/2"" in length forward and a more generous 3" 3/4 long in the back. I might indeed be able to use such a riser in the back to retain the multi-shot capability, and a cantilevered mount on top to bring the scope back forward in a more natural position. Maybe I could also look for high risers with 0 MOA cant to cover those rails and clear the magazine in height, then use a 20 MOA mount on top of those.

The scope is now expected to be delivered by tomorrow afternoon, so I will be able to  test things myself.  I'll try without mount cant; I am hoping it will work as is, and will be posting my results.
The Avenger -as much as I love it- won't last forever, so I'd rather consider stepping up in my PCP's quality before throwing money at it to make things perfect. Hiding any of this from the house boss is another issue altogether  ;)

My wife is scary  :P
Last year, I bought a pcp , ammo,  air compressor, chrono, anemometer... you know, the basics.
When discovered, I found a new kitchen on my honey do list.
I finally bought a small 2 seater convertible (used) I'd been eying for years. Couldn't hide it, and now less than 2 months after 'we' are in the process of purchasing land for a new house.
I may repeat myself, but my wife is scary, and my budget small. I also love model trains, so there's that  ;)
Edit : and if she ever reads this , I'm dead ;D

I have received my alpha 6 4.5-27x50. It will indeed be a pleasure to shoot through that one, and a clear step up from my actual scope (Discovery VT-Z 3-12x44).
I won't install it for a few days, but it is already obvious I'll need to find or make a wheel for the focus knob.

Yes I have one for mine, 3D printed from a guy on the forums, works good but the cinching bolt & nut are bright silver against the black 3D printed wheel (although he prints them in a variety of colors) so you do notice the bright hardware, but a black Sharpie ought to take care of it although I have been distracted away from airguns recently.

Jerry, David is 100% correct for the picture, this is indeed from Princess Bride. Another true classic  ;)

Best movie ever! (IMHO)

Has anybody put this scope on a nova liberty, can you use medium 30mm dovetail rings or do they have to be high?

I'm pretty sure you're gonna need high rings with the 50mm objective and 30mm tube in order to clear the magazine.  I know with my Hawke AirMax 4-12-50 and high BKL rings, there's very little space in between the objective bell and the barrel.

They probably won't fit. I was going to take a picture of my 30mm rings packaging and realized they are of the 'high' kind. I had them in a drawer so I just grabbed them without paying enough attention when I received the Alpha scope.
with high rings, my objective and magazine clear by 3/8", or a hair less than that.
Regarding magazine clearance: On my avenger, the magazine and the objective will interfere at the same time as they have the exact same clearance from the tube (from magazine) and shroud (from objective) respectively. It should be the same to your liberty.

Hello all! Well I am wanting to finally throw a scope onto my cz 455 22lr. It has a DIP picatiny mount. I have a Nikon prostaff efr 3-9x40 on my marlin 795 and LOVE it. Unfortunately they don’t make it or any rifle scopes that I’m aware of any more. So I’m in need of some suggestions. It needs to have parralax adjustment. I’ve looked at vortex and Leopold and there offerings are dismal. I don’t want to break the bank but would like to keep it under 150 bucks or less (less is better of course). Thank you all!

Check the classified ads here and AGN, I have seen a couple listed for sale recently.  I believe there is a hardly used Alpha 6 4-27X50 for sale for $150 on AGN now.

Hmmm, if that $150 includes shipping might be a deal if it is hardly used as seller describes.
