After months of waiting, the new Remington .25 magnum finally became available in a couple places and counting! Mine arrived yesterday, so let's see how it stacks up against the Benjamin Trail NPXL725 it's derived from?!

Leonard......Good Video ! I REALLY Like Your Remington 725 VTR Rifle ! :)
I'll be very interested in seeing how your new rifle performs, for you.
Your Remington 725 VTR looks to me, like it has the makings for a perfect, sub-zero winter climate, small game hunting rifle.
My Best Wishes - Tom

Love your videos Leonard. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys. It's rated at 900FPS, but it's still tight judging by the 2 numbers out of at least 24 from lousy chrono. Everything replaced new for free. But treated the .25 as bad as the .177's. The box and adds said Centerpoint 3-9x32. But it got upgraded to the Centerpoint 3-9x40AO mildot scope on Hawk see-through high rise mounts. I swapped in some Hawk mid-rise mounts on the welded Weaver rail and lowered the parallax. Shoots where I point it! Now if it'll just loosen up a little? It's a beautiful, accurate rifle so far. Wanna get the latest Realtree camo dip by that guy in Columbus asap. But the dimpled grips on the grip and forestock will get masked off, along with the trigger guard.

Ha ha ha that thing is so long it would knock the camera over if you are not careful ;D

He's right. The Winchester 1400cs is definitely the big boy on this block. Interesting how the 725VTR is about the same length as the NPXL725 it's barreled action is based on by Crosman. And also how the over-all length and stock length of the GuideHawk is nearly the same as the Striker 1000x?! Here's a pick of them together in the rack to illustrate my point...
Left to right; Winchester 1400cs, Benjamin Trail NPXL725, Remington 725VTR, Crosman GuideHawk NP, Hatsan Striker 1000x.

And the Allen camo sling came in from Amazon seller, a gun shop down in Dayton. Made by Allen and like $11.34. Then the NPXL725 Breech seals, breech seal shims and front sling mounts that also fit the 725VTR.

Well, I hit a snag with the 725VTR. I can't get the cocking lever to breech block pin out with hammer and punch. Asked around a bit and wound up ordering this heavy duty chain breaker to press that overly-tight pin out.

I need to remove it to install the front sling swivel;

I wound up adding both of those shims to the one already behind the breech seal, making 3 now. And a new seal besides. Makes it shoot a little harder, but chrono won't work yet?

And here's part 2 of the Crosman Remington 725VTR videos on Airgun Fan! I get a couple things done to the 725VTR that is oddly lacking in the production example?...

Leonard ....I enjoyed watching your Video. Good Job on attaching the sling. I really like your Remington 725VTR rifle.

^^^Ditto, definitely a man on a mission. 8)

Well, gentlemen, like the song, " you know you ain't seen nothin' yet!" There's definitely more in store for this Remington!

Well, I hit a snag with the 725VTR. I can't get the cocking lever to breech block pin out with hammer and punch. Asked around a bit and wound up ordering this heavy duty chain breaker to press that overly-tight pin out.
The cocking lever pin is actually a rivet. The hole is countersunk and the rivet pressed in with a hydraulic press. I replaced a barrel on a Benjamin Titan and I had to carefully grind off the flare around the rivet in the countersink. I didn't reuse the rivet. I replaced it with a metric spring pin. It actually works better with the spring pin. The original rivet was soft and had shown signs of wear. The spring pin is tempered steel and has held up well with thousands of shots. I hope this helps.
-
The pin is only flared on the end where it's pressed in from. You press it out from the other end. I did with a chain breaker press in a table vice.

Looks like I forgot to finish the first part of this saga. I had the Realtree Edge camo dip done on it @ Mid Ohio Hydrographics over in Mansfield. Cost me $128.xx. Looks great!

Next steps will be determined by it's performance when I get a new chrono. Preferably the Caldwell G2.
-
What are the numbers on this thing? I just seen one today for the first time. What grain is shooting at what fps? And whats the accuracy?
-
+1, I wanted one when I first found it a year or so ago. But I didn’t hear great things about it, especially accuracy. So I forgot about it. I too, wonder what the FPE/MV numbers are, and accuracy out to xx distance?
-
I'll get some chrono numbers, but some of the guys on the Facebook air gun pages get distance numbers I can't do outside around here.
-
I'm going to have to charge everything up (battery packs on the G2 & tablet). I've got several .25cal pellets to test as well. I've been very curious about the numbers myself.
