-
Tom are there any plans for the smaller calibers . If not , that is ok . I NEED one of these . Im hoping you submit to the RCMP for Canadian approval.
-
Thanks guys! It's been a long time in the work but yay :)

Nice rifle Tom !!
Q for ya ... Will / Can it shoot .45 ACP bullets in .451" IN LEAD OR PLATED LEAD ?
Barrel is 452. A more appropriate pistol slug would be 45 colt. Never seen a plated 45 ACP before.

HSM Bullets does "Plated" lead and been shooting them for a few years now in the 1911 .45 ACP .... There very accurate and affordable
@ $45 per 500
My local Sportsmans warehouse carries them ... or on line.
X-tream is another, tho a tad more at @ $60 per 500 BUT ... also do .452" in 2 weights.

I ordered some to test. The 230 gn is a bit on the light side for the full length barrels but should be a good match for the 22" Hunter

All good questions. There is some field testing to do (ergonomics, cary, new sear and safety arrangement, etc.) and quite a few projects to complete before this gets into actual production. October is a good estimate.
Tom

Ahhh! a left handed action. I'm feeling a little funny. ;D
Finally, a shooter for me!

I dunno but I really have a weakness for silver guns ;D
But not for big bores though :D

Lefty one. Nice.
I notice it has quite a bit of MOA tilt in the rail. How much?

75 on that one but production models will be 50 to accommodate optics that have limited adjustments.

Man thats a sexy looking gun very nice lines.
-
Lines and also sweeping angles on the breech. It really ties it nicely with the stock. With the Slayer I see utility. With this, I see beauty.
Now hurry up to sell them, so I can buy up a Slayer cheap from someone switching over.
-
The Speer Gold Dots are also a plated bullet. They are one of the best performing HP out there for their intended purposes.
One of the few that I will EDC.

Peter & Tom,
Sorry guys, I was thinking the .452 Slayer and not the rifle version when I posted check the web site.
@ Tom,
So is a Bullpup and rifle conversion kits going to be available for the Slayer line?

@ Tom,
So is a Bullpup and rifle conversion kits going to be available for the Slayer line?
Yes. for existing 308s or 357s, the lower receiver needs to be either upgraded or reworked by us, one part in the sear set is different, and the trigger/guard.
The 45 receivers already have the necessary features with the exception of the sear part.
Tom
-
And now you have gone and done it Tom, first rifle I actually would consider buying if I had more chips to play with. Just drooled all over my keyboard.
Marko

I just wonder how the balance would change from the BP. I really like the balance on my .357 Slayer, but having the option to convert to a traditional is exciting news.
-
It sure is! ;) 8)

Big Bores Rock.

Big Bores Rock.
Correction, Slayers from AAA rock!
-
Seriously.. That's simply amazing, like everything AAA does but this one is a real stunner! Next up a .41? ^^
-
Oh Boy, this one is likely to cause the loss of a few of my cattle! (Sell cattle ... buy Airguns ;D )
-
Tom, what's the scoop with production on this beauty?
-
WOW!!!!!!!!! 😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😍😃😃
Tha Gun is GORGEOUS!!!! Gotta Love that Baby Girl!!!
-
Awesome looking rifle Tom and I bet it shoots as accurate as it looks, but I really like the feel and balance of my Slayer ;)

Good luck getting anything from AAA. Multi year waiting list...

Don't discount this American company, help them survive and prosper as we have with others. There will come a day when manufacturing supply can meet purchasing demand with American Air Arms. Then those who buy impulsivity or just have receive their purchase within a week or two of order will be satisfied.
-
I desperately need a Slayer Rifle 308. :o
-
Anyone know the wait time on the 452? Ordered mine in July, so 6 months right now. I am patient and it is worth the wait, i was just curious on the eta. Thanks, Ross
-
I ordered mine on Jan 19, 2019. T-rex with polished barrel. Not here yet. Regards, Tom
-
Good to know. Let us know when younget it.
-
Many years ago I ordered two Corsairs from(via) Vincent. It took a lot of time and he was worried as time go. I told him not to worry about me, I knew it will take time, I was prepared for it, I'll wait. And finally got the guns.
Its not a large scale factory. Of course there is always better way to take care of customers, no question about that.
I still would wait.
-
I also have a t-Rex with polished barrel in order fully paid since sept 2018. I hear end of this month.

Thanks guys. I am happy to wait as I have the slayer 357 already. Well worthit to me!
-
Why does the AAA site claim that a Slayer can be had in 12 to 16 weeks when it is a year or more? That's pretty dishonest. Is there a term for a ponzi scheme air rifle order?
-
@pcphack ... I believe the website has not been updated in quite sometime.
that was an old and possibly yes needs to be updated statement.
My impression has been that since tom got annoyed with complaints and people wanting returns and having lack of patience. That he will currently only be selling guns in small batches to AOA. Everyone who was LUCKY enough to already have a prepaid spot in. will still be getting their custom gun orders and Tom has refused any new work or projects until he finishes those ( i believe like 5 ) custom 45 orders.
Anyone not happy with waiting and looking to refund, well the way i hear it. You could probably resell your slot in that line of 5 for a profit. Because rumor has it. Tom's pretty much done taking any custom orders from new clientele.
People will have to watch for AOA to showcase items in small batches as they become available.
I also get the feeling that for a while Evol mini's and standards, and then folding stock mini's will be the focus. Those people waiting on 45's have nice positions no longer available for purchase.

I just discovered this week that the AAA website was updated since that last post about the wait times, and you are right about those .452 Slayer orders too. Those that did order recently were refunded, and potential new clients can't make orders now. I feel bad for the future potential Slayer buyers at this point in time who want them because the Slayer is a unique premium magazine fed big bore, well engineered, and very accurate. In any successful business the market dictates the focus of product sales and development, and people buying airguns demand the accurate solidly constructed smaller calibers, so that is AAA's focus now. I just hope that AAA realizes that the market has and continued to dictate that the Slayer is a high-demand big bore airgun, with virtues other big bore's do not posses and with far less competition than the small bores, and therefore will continue to produce them on a limited but steady basis. I know this particular rifle could sell if on the shelves and advertised.

Id be happy to sell my spots in line for a .308 Slayer and a .452 Slayer (T-Rex version) both with lapped barrels, if such spots are a real thing. Better call Tom and ask if he is willing to do this.
-
Whiners drove Tom away,...what a shame.
-
I don't think whiners has to do with that.
Slayer is very complex piece of kit, and as such it is very time consuming to manufacture.
From what I know about Tom is he wants perfection that is sometimes difficult when you have deadlines to deal with.
The pellet probe alone is complicated as it's automatically retracted after the bolt closes. How many other rifles has that?
Looking at the part count and I wonder how he managed to make as many rifles as he has.
I hope Tom continues to make big bores.
Two sides on every coin, no matter if he does or not.
Marko
-
From what I've gathered, Tom has more pressing issues. I say keep to the plan Tom...God, Family, then the guns. No doubt these waiting will get their guns, when you can.
Regarding the retractable probe, I had to take mine apart due to my error. I was amazed at how it was designed. It's very true about the many parts that make up just this portion alone. To replicate this many times is really something.
I have hit 331 FPE using cast slugs with my .357. An awesome gun. Thanks Tom!
-
there is som truth to what manny said. Tom's very oldschool and doesnt care much for whiney types or even dealing with text, cell, social media... he wants a F*****G call on his LANDLINE and maybe even a VM on his old @@@ answering machine ... I myself have had my issues and complaints when 1st meeeting Tom and wanting to pound my gavel of customer authority about his customer service etc. etc. blach blahblah...
Once you get to know TOM he's not very hidden with who he is , just be yourself and he'll do the same ... You'll find that he just is who he is and for him some customers
( actually most often fake customers) became a bit to draining for his personlity type to need to coddle his potential customers and or recently paid. So he found it better to let others deal with that and he'll just develop in small batches so that he only has to deal with complaints from his vendors.
Those who really get this and know Tom understand it will be quite a while bfore anyone really begins seeing bigbore orders for others. As those who have managed to stay on the Inside with Tom ... Will be keeping him quite busy when he does have the time to get back to bigbore custom builds... Many of us not worried about Timelines still have projects in the works we just KNOW he'll come through on eventually.
as for the prepaid 2 orders , sorry if im wrong... but im rather certain ... Tom would just refund you for BOTH if your really done waiting... The thing about selling custom order positions... Tom really only wants to do that for people he cares to interact with currently... lol ... so i think it would depend upon the customer possibly...
ive personally found most online negativity about AAA to be from guys that dont even have $ in with Tom and pretend as if they know what its like to be a customer of AAA and or deal with them personally...
Its really sad because there will be some really COOL things still to come from AAA , and i think many have made TOM just far less interested in dealing with yoour average customer... Which is a huge loss IMO for the average air gunners out there looking to learn and or find another builder.
-
Some people think that custom guns are cheap, and pretend to have a say in some matters.
I have been asked couple of times if I would do a custom for someone that money is not a problem. And after telling how much and what I can make according to the current laws here, even if bending it a little. Suddenly they have lost interest.
Not everything is gamo or hatsan kind of money.

I think the issue with Tom is more one of being dishonest about delivery times on his website. If it takes 2 years to get it, fine, but then don't claim it's only a few months. That's an order of magnitude difference, and is probably why many got upset.
Personally, I tried to order one a long time before any of the complaints about delivery time showed up on GTA. I left messages twice and couldn't find a way to order it with a lapped barrel. He never responded and I tried on a few occasions to reach him. I had the money and the cost was no issue. There was just no way to order it.

you DONT ! take peoples money , put them on a list that you can not produce the product in the time you claim you are
.
that my friends is a very BAD business practice ! that will not be tolerated by most people- especially now days with all the new high power options that are out there from BIG manufactures that can deliver on time or very close with out pre pay " get on my pre paid list offerings " REDICOULAS to say the least
.
at the very least do it like Dan at XP airguns does - have a list but you do not pay anything until the gun is ready to ship
. that right there was Tom's biggest mistake , taking money before the gun is ready to deliver

Trolls don't help the situation, because people are even less inclined to buy his products.

Why criticize someone who's pointing out a problem with a vender and call them a troll?
If someone points out "The King is actually naked" while everyone else is exclaiming "What beautiful clothes" I think we should applauded their honesty because they are trying to help us not get taken in.
Tom's .357 and .452 rifles are AMAZING but if you can't get what you paid for there's a problem. I STILL have hope he will get his problems worked out and get production going. I had to cancel my order but if he started actually delivering guns instead of promises I would put the money down again in a heartbeat!
-
Sharing how you honestly feel is not being a Troll. Perhaps look up the term?

It appears pretty spot on, based on what I read. Trolling happens not only with this manufacturer, but other's as well, and that was my point
-
Id say that's not a troll I've had to cancel an order also with this vendor. At the time of my order I talked with Tom he said 6 months so I paid in full, problem was after the money was gone and deadline blown there was no contact from the vendor to say why I'm 10 plus months and no gun. So by the time I got it cancelled with a few false promises made by the vendor I was in almost a year to the day. I'd love to have one of his guns but I'm not about to be jerked around again.

An individual having had an issue with with a vendor and putting that issue out there for other people to see and use to make a decision on whether or not to use said vendor is not being a troll. And that is not what I said, nor was I referring to. I was pointing out a fact that trolling is occurring.
A random individual with no previous ties to a vendor who comes onto a thread to just post opinions as to how they feel is very much within the definition of trolling. And as I stated previously, this form of trolling happens a lot, and with all kinds of vendors for all kinds of issues (again, by individuals with nothing at stake, who are just blasting said vendors' issues for their own (trolling) reasons)).
-
God forbid a member having an opinion. ::)

Exactly. And my opinion is that of trolling occurring. God forbid that I, a member, point that out.

I think JR is trolling US! 8) ;D

I hit the 1 year mark in a few days for waiting. I have seen a few guys on the thread state they have been waiting over a year. Did any of you receive the gun yet?

I paid for mine (T-rex .45 W/polished bore) on Jan 19, 2019. I won't be sending any emails, I'd rather Tom got some work done. It took about a year or so to get my Slayer .357, so I'm used to it. Regards, Tom

Any luck with your T-rex. I ordered mine back in Nov 2018, still waiting. Recently ask Tom for my money back, he said give him a few days he had a solution, but haven't heard from him since and it's been a month. Par for the course I guess. How's your 357 shooting? I love my, it's an awesome gun. Will be selling my 308 though, never shoot it, was expecting it to be tamer/quieter than the 357 but they are about same. Will have to post else where though don't have the 20 post necessary to list on this site. Anyway good luck with your T-Rex
-
I sold my .357 Slayer about 8 months ago. So I am doing without until the .45 shows up. Regards, Tom
-
Going on 2 years of waiting. This is getting crazy. :-[
-
Made it to 2 years waiting. Anyone have some advice on how to resolve this mess?
-
Best thing at this point would be to get a refund. Not sure what method you used to pay but your CC company or bank should be able to get your payment back for items not received. I also had experienced a very long wait time when my Slayer was sent back for repairs so I sympathize with you and the other posters.
