I have a Hammers 3-9x40 AO scope on a Hatsan 1000X .25 springer that's got a couple tins through it so far and no problems, $73.99:They also have a 4-12x40 AO version for $79.00:And one in 3-9X32, $63.62:All are magnum springer rated and come with one piece, 4 bolt mounts included.
What you pay for a scope kind of depends on the power level you're after and features. There are Hawke models available for under $100 but there are less expensive brands to consider. Some guys are posting about a Discovery scope and Hammers are well thought of also.

Don't really need illuminated reticle but not a deal breaker either way. Also doesn't have to be side adjust AO, front adjust AO works fine for me.Hate to sound really cheap but the 4-16x40 CP scope I had on my springer gave me almost 10 years of trouble free service. But alas it finally bought the farm.If I could find another scope that cheap that works and lasts that long I would be really really happy.ThanksRay

I absolutely hate the reticle on the newer models. Practically useless on a airgun.ThanksRay
