I sent in my 3-9x40 Air Max off my HW50S last week. Today, I received an e-mail thanking me for choosing Hawke and stating that a replacement scope will be forthcoming in the next 5 business days. Where can you beat service and warranty like that?
Good news Greg! But why did you need a replacement? Is their QC kind of shaky?-Y[/quoteI reckon the crosshairs got tired? They wouldn't move.
That’s good to hear. I have two to send them that won’t hold zero.
Ron, I fixed my droop thanks to you and your findings on the needed bend in the cocking link. I got rid of so much droop that I had to bend my barrel back to straight! But it was too late for my second UTG despite being very close to optical center. My new Airmax works fine on my 30, but would hold zero on my 95. But I haven’t tried it on the 95 since the new cocking link. I may try it again before I send it in, but I am back to enjoying the peep.I also have a Vantage that won’t hold zero. The 95 shoots so much better now with the new link. I need to get the diopter closer to my eye for a better sight picture. I end up reaching, getting my face more forward to see well. I have an extension on order from Hector.
It's the droop that kills most scopes.
Doesn't it make you wonder why so many Hawke scopes HAVE to go back??? -Y
I purchased the previous generation Airmax 4X12 40mm. The POI changed when the scope zoomed from 4 to 12x. The replacement I received was the upgraded current version with etched glass reticle. Super clear and consistent, mounted on my .22 HW35E. I also have an amazing 3X9 40mm Vantage on a .177 HW50S that is simply perfection with this mid power springer. Both scopes look superb on these Weihrauchs. Highly recommended.
