A m Great post , I guess I can hi Jack my own post . Cleaning always opens up a can of worms , always dueling with my CF Benchrest friends on the subject. I would ualways give my 308 match barrel a spotless cleaning after every range trip. With reloading your battling two fronts , your reloads or your shooting. After finding that perfect round it's time for a barrel change . Anyway when I stopped the insanity and stuck with the round that grouped good , cleaning never interfered with my groups. I'm glad I read your post because I am one of those guys that cleans after every shooting day. I was going with not cleaning my HW95 barrel. It's grouping good for the last 3 outings without cleaning. After reading your post I'm going to clean my barrel to see if my groups open up. I never liked the idea of a fouled barrel , would cause pressure problems and as you posted with the build up in your barrel having to give it a deep cleaning to get it back. With 22 lr. There is the donut effect from a build up of lead at the start of the rifling. They make a product called lead away cloth by Birchwood Casey , can cut to patch size and removes harden lead very easily. They also have a product called Chore Boy , copper pad can be cut and wrapped around a brush. This will for sure open the bag of worms.Chris
Is topic a private discussion between A Moron and CW308 I guess not I posted and this is an edit
When I was talking to Ron ( Baymay) he told me of the stock differences , the stock is higher on the 95 L and the stock covered the barrel , I liked that feature but shooting with a peep I like the lower stock. When I finally called AoA to order , in their description , it said front globe and adjustable rear sight . When I asked if the globe came with inserts he ( Chris ) from AoA said yes , that's why they shipped me one at NC. I like the standard 95 , I may have to cut it back by one inch I feel more comfortable at 13 1/4 , I removed the butt pad and replaced with a thin strip of rubber until I'm 100% sure I want to shorten the stock , it's a pain in the @@@ to add a new butt plate . I'll see how it goes . You'll see when I post "Cutting Back my Stock for a shorter LOP" Be Well A mChris
