Help--Reassemble Crosman 140

I just put a seal kit in my 140 including the piston seal and felt washer. When I screwed the trigger back on to the piston tube, I then couldn't get the safety detent to push far enough back into the trigger housing to install the safety button. I also couldn't get it to fire with the trigger installed. What do I need to do?

When installing the safety, the flat in the pivot must be facing forward, otherwise it may catch on the bottom of the hole.
For your non-firing issue, I'm sorry to ask but are you sure all parts are in the right place in the right position? Sometimes a tiny detail can wreak havoc a good rebuild. Speaking of details I think your sear block (140-17 in the diagram) is reversed, the taper goes toward the rear.
I also post a picture of mine that let you see how the parts are positionned.
Will be nice to see what's the opinion of others.
Hey BTW, big cheers to your clean-up crew

Since this was my first time with a 140, I followed two different U-tube videos in the disassembly and reassembly. I was also very anal about the order of laying out the parts in the right order and direction while disassembling. I feel there is something with the trigger that needs to be depressed while assembling or some action that I haven't found that will allow assembly and work. When I removed the safety the detent button depressed easily. Something clicked when I removed the trigger but I couldn't determine what moved. The safety detent button now will not depress enough to allow the safety install when the trigger is attached.
Most of the seals and the piston cup basically crumbled upon removal. I have very good compression now compared to none before starting. I feel I'm close but am stumped on this last part.

I'll reverse the sear block and try that. That may also allow the trigger to seat properly when attached.
