I just received a used gun and it had some air in the tank .I went to top it off and when I closed my main tank and opened the bleed valve it completely clearly bleed the gun's tank. I took the fitting out of the gun's tank and the little black o ring had a small crack in it and overall things were dirty. I cleaned everything and put it back together and it did the same thing.I can find nowhere where I can buy the complete assembly .can I just go to a hardware store and buy an O ring or does it have to be some special one? If it is something particularly special does anybody know the size I should order?
Try opening the bleed valve on your fill station suddenly to snap the check valve in the valve fill fitting shut.... It is not unusual for them to stick when bled slowly, in fact this technique can sometimes be used to empty a tank, although it takes a long time....Bob
This happened not too long ago. https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=189614.0Hunter
The main thing to note. Will the plunger with oring fall by its own weight to the closed position? If it won’t, it will hang up in the open position. Dave
Not sure how to reply. If you replace blown oring with same size, will it fall with it’s own weight to the closed position? If the od of oring is too large, it can cause what you describe. Dave
