What gun will it be used on?

Hawke.Duplex reticle does not allow for hold-over/under. OK for a flat shooting PB, not OK for an arcing pellet gun.-Y

Yeah it would go on a Crosman M4 for the moment but id eventually put it on one of my low powered springers I have. My issue is Im 47 and my eyes in the past year or so have gotten worse and I see myself scoping as few of my favorite rifles that I normally shoot iron sights with.

My eyes went south at the same age. Try peeps if you still want to use open sights. They're amazing. I'm 56 and my eyes are much worse now and I can still use peep sights. Some guns are nicer to shoot without scopes.

For the money BSA and Centerpoint are supposed to make decent scopes. But when shooting pellets, you need holdover. If you are always shooting at 20 yards and less, stick with peeps or open sights. -Y

Not sure I"ll need hold over for this thing just being a back yard shooter. Plus my eyesight has started failing me at 47 years old and im close to switching most of my stuff from iron sights to scopes except for a select few that I have peeps on already. Since I slapped the 3x9 Simmons on the M4 its kinda fun plinking around the yard out 25-30 max yards. Its the parallax that's killing me. Its pretty blurry closer then 20 yards. It was a scope I had lying around. Ive always been a iron sight shooter my whole life. Even with most firearms I own. My deer rifle for the last 30 years is a 6.5 Swedish Mauser i sporterized into a synthetic stock and upgraded the military irons to aftermarted Williams iron sights, Timney trigger eat. Ive never had a scope on it, and I harvested 30-40 deer with it since I built it. Im about the challenge of it. Scopes always seemed like cheating to me. I switched from Compound bows to instinctive longbow archery for the same reason. Call me weird. Don't get me wrong I would love to have the mildot but not sure I need it really. I don't think I"ll ever shoot this M4 pumper at any great distances. If I need to hold over at the greatest distance of my yard, within a few shooting sessions I can get close with a duplex reticle.
