Great shooting, Tommy....Bob

Would like your thoughts, or anyone else - please chime in.If I can manage to get the first shot in or near the X ring, I am using that POI as a “hold” for slightly moving the reticle up/down or left/right. I know this is probably obvious to many, but it’s easier for me to get my confidence up early and get the first shot in as an X, then I really concentrate. Much easier for my confidence as opposed to having the first two or three shots not be great, and then I seem to loose my concentration and more importantly, my execution and technique.

Or applying "Kentucky windage"?
PaulMoving my reticle based on exactly where the first X ring shot lands. As an example; if my shot lands high right at 1 o’clock…. I will adjust POA to left at 8 o’clock lower left of X dot for next shot. I should add if wind shift changes, bad pellet or I screw up my technique - all bets off!

It’s like chasing a ghost using turrets to continue to adjust POA and then re-zero again based on too many shots...
Great shooting Thomas. Also, re. about submission for Master status. Actually, I made Master back on 05/07/20. I wonder where all the shooters have gone. last year there were a decent number of people posting targets here. I've noticed the same thing in the Shooting Match Gate.
You know.....what is so confusing to me?I could have swore last year and year before the matches started near the beginning of each month and ended near the end of the month. But for some reason unknown to me, this year we have matches that start near the beginning of the month, but we are supposed to have our targets posted by the middle of the month. That gives us two weeks to shoot the targets?Example: 100 Yard Air Rifle Match #5-2021« on: July 30, 2021, 07:40:51 PM » Welcome to the 5th 100 yard match of 2021.This match will run for 4 weeks. Post a scan or picture of the target by the end of the day Sunday August 15, 2021..............................................What am I missing here? In my mind I think I have until the end of the month to get my targets in but I must have shot them in the first two weeks of the month? I just don't remember it working this way in years past?Shouldn't I be able to post a target if I shot it and posted it by August 28th if this match runs for four weeks?I'll have to be honest here....this is dimming my interest for it this year. Sorry, I gotta speak my mind

This made for good reading, thanks for the info guys.Just a thought to simplify the matches: Maybe just go by month, even though some have more days than others. September match, October match... with all submissions having to be in by the end of the month.
