I ordered this one here anyway a couple of days ago, and I don't regret it. I am pretty sure the internals and glass are the same. If not, I will report back and also on the difference etched vs. wire. The wire one may have slightly larger mil-dots, but I have read hundreds of reviews on Amazon on the non-etched 3-12x44 scopes and no one is really complaining or saying it's a deal breaker. Some people said they own both and like them both, and a few even said the non-etched appear to be more clear in normal lighting, whereas the etched ones are better in very low light conditions. To be fair the UTG glass-etched models go for $179-$189 and this model averages $130. For $100 this scope is definitely a bargain, so I tend not to be as critical as long as the glass is clear or what I am used to with the other UTG 3-12x44's. I almost never use the illumination on any of the dozen or so scopes I have with IR, and I rarely hunt/shoot beyond 35 yards, so I wanted a more basic 30mm scope without all the bells & whistles and the price tag. If you shoot long range and in low light conditions, then get the SWAT or the ones with IR and glass-etched mid-dots.I have one of the SWAT scopes on my Marauder. I went to get another for my Akela and it was basically junk when it arrived. Very foggy lense. So how did you make out with this one? Looking for something a little better than the CP scope that came with the rifle. Hoping to avoid breaking the $200-$250 mark. This one is pretty good, and you can return it:https://www.walmart.com/ip/CenterPoint-3-12x44mm-Rifle-Scope-30mm-tube-with-Precision-Lock-Turrets-Black-LR312SFT2/578419421I have two of these. Really nice, clear, bright and holds zero.

I like their mildot but only the glass-etched version.Their wire has too plump dots.
Wire reticle is OK for hunting, not OK for target shooting in my opinion. Waaay too thick for any precision shooting, OK for pesting.
The wire reticles are a tad thick. Last year I bought a Bushnell Engage 4-12 with the deploy reticle , very nice scope but for my taste the reticle is almost too fine for target use. The Engage lived on my DAR 2 for a while and now one of these UTG Classics has been onboard for six months and I am digging it. I may try the Engage on the Airacuda Max .22 if it ever gets here . The difference in group sizes for me using the deploy reticle and the wire UTG has shown to be minimal. It never hurts to have “good” spare scopes in one’s store room.
