I've owned a Gamo Shadow 1000 for 15-20 years now. I've bough a lot of airguns since then, but the Shadow is a sweet shooter. I didn't know how good until I put a decent scope on it for my Granddaughter to shoot as she's outgrow the little Stoeger X3 TAC. Easy to get sub dime groups at 25 yards with JSB 8.4's. I wasn't too keen on the polymer breech blocks and barrels but I did buy a Swarm Magnum Gen 2 in .177. At least it has a steel looking barrel. It's such an amazingly accurate lightweight springer that I bought a Gamo Hunter Extreme Pro in .22. Same powerplant as the Magnums but with a nice wood stock and steel breech and I believe solid steel barrel so it weights a little more but still not bad. I've always been a fan of magnum springers but not the horrible hold sensitivity and weight. These 2 guns are are as easy to shoot accurately as my HW97k Shadow 1000. A workout to cock while sitting at the bench but doesn't bother me. Seeing these tiny little 5 shot groups that easily fit under a dime over and over out of a magnum makes it worth it. Problem is I love my HW97k and Walther LGV competition Pro so now I pack 4 airguns out whether I shot them or not.
