Quote from: WDEagle on April 30, 2022, 06:10:29 PMThanks, for the link. Old people like me are link challenged. I got mine last week when they were $64. Came the next day. They must have a warehouse near by.
Got one - it was down to $59.84, more than 50% off. So I'm saving money. I can't hit squat with it, but that's just a lack of practice. One of the reviews on Amazon says that it can use the Bug-A-Salt Shred-Er cartridges. I ordered some, and we'll see.
This gentleman has take Shred-Er research to the next level.I'll report back when I get the salt cartridges.
Follow-up on the Bug-A-Salt / Crosman Triple Threat. I got it out to shoot some wasps that had moved into a wooden wind chime, and results were mixed. The Bug-A-Salt magazine doesn't want to feed quite right in the pistol - you have to turn it by hand or else you don't get a shot at all. To kill the wasps you have to get about six inches away; any farther and they get stunned but can shortly reenter the fight. On the whole it was a bit disappointing.
Unrelated sidebar - the Spectricide Wasp spray is a failure too. I sprayed that wind chime until it was literally dripping, and it did jack $#!+ to those wasps. Maybe they would have all died of cancer in five years, but I kind of needed them dead right away.

The old stuff would drop them almost instantly mid-flight. A while back, after abysmal failure with the hardware store brand, I did some research and decided to try the white can Spectracide Pro wasp and hornet killer. It isn't anywhere near as good as the old stuff, but gets the job done. Hopefully your results were using the green can non-pro stuff...?
I get them under the eves of my house. I burn them out. Old broom so a rag want slip off, some lighter fluid on the rag, light it, stick it under the nest of a couple of seconds, drop it and run in the house. Kills them or burns the wings off, the few that get away leave.

Normally I wouldn't have cared all that much, but we had to take it down to do some work on the roof. Next time I might take a spray bottle of gasoline or alcohol after them - I know gas is fatal to bees. At the very least it'll be a good story for the firemen when they come to put my house out.
