Buddy just called and told me he found a 880 for me that has fancy white letting on it.
Brown stock with black diamonds on the forend.
Stock is in good shape. slight rust on shroud.
He thinks it may be plastic receiver.
all I know at this point.
-
Here's two possibilities, there are probably others...
-
I happen to have a Silver Anniversary. It's stashed under a bed or in a closet someplace around here...
Yep, black plastic receiver, stock, fore grips and silver shroud.
-
Didn't the Silver Anniversary model come with that sporty hooded front sight? Don't know why but I always liked a hooded sight...8)
-
I'd have to dig it out and look... I can't remember.
-
No worries, it was just an idle thought so no need to go spelunking! lol
-
I looked a around bit and saw a pic of a hooded front sight...
-
Daisy used them on the 880 between about 1991 and '97. They also used the regular front sight intermittently during the same time.
-
As it turns out this one says "Powerline 880" in white lettering.
Thanks!

If you have the LOT NO., you can tell the month and year it was made.
I don't know how accurate this is, but I have in my notes that they used gold lettering on a 1994 880. And at least on some guns the lettering and designs seem to end up white over time- even when they started out as a color.

I had called him today to pin down what it said exactly. I won't be actually getting it for a while .
I saw some pics of some with gold letters but they were some anniversary I believe.

Well, picked this up day before yesterday.
A disappointment as far as fixing back up into a shooter.
The shroud was complete rust, most of the black paint gone from it. I wire brushed it, then went over that with fine steel wool.
Got it painted...just so so.
Stock/forends are great, no problems there.
Biggest issue is the PLASTIC receiver. Must have been the first try with plastic after metal.
This has ONE large screw through the right side, threaded into the left, to hold the stock on .
A smaller screw on the top of the left, screwing into the right half.
Both of the nubs these screw into were busted. I tried Super glue.
Did not hold. Stock wobbles bad.
Now it has become a stash of parts.
-
I got both. the anniversary gun has black plastic furniture and a nickel finished barrel. yes, the sight is hooded. The powerline 880 is brown stocks with a black diamond fenced in white. Also has a front sight that is hooded. beautiful guns, but then again, all 880s are beautiful to me. :)
-
I tried to get this one to work, but that receiver was trash, and I think I see why it broke.
Plastic, and only one bolt through to hold that stock.
Have a stash of spare parts now. Stock and forends are great. ;D
-
Wendell, what parts do you need to complete your gun? I just stepped on @$%^ and found a project 822... used some parts from a newer 880 to fix it and it looks and shoots fantastically now... and it left me with a 880 parts box. let me know what you need.
PS: ill post pics of the 822 next. she is a blast to shoot. 577 fps with crosman prems 14.3 gr at 10 pumps. groups the size of a .25 pellet hole at 10 yards... and a nicely finished wood stock stained in dark oak that shows some beautiful patterns.
-
Left and right receiver halves, I think I saved all the rest.
This particular model (white lettering) had to have been very weak at the grip.
I have my metal/metal 880 already that shoots great. 8)
What receiver halves have you got?
Yes, post some pics!
Hmmm, now I'll have to check on parts, as I can't readily put my hands on them!
-
Guess I'm missing the barrel shroud and receiver halves.( with bolt and safety)
Shroud had been rusty and I had tried cleaning it and painting. It's gone.

Located bolt and safety, but missing the spring catch for the lever.
