Suddenly, I am getting small popup ads, usually three or four, covering the center top of the page. On this Reply page, two of the ads are covering the middle portion of Subject box and the area under that such that the bottom of the lower ad lines up with the tops of the Font Face, Font Size and Change Color boxes. I had posted about this problem in another forum here and was told to click on the chevron in the upper right corner of the page so it was pointing downward. I did so and the next time I logged in, the ads were gone but the next time after that, with the chevron still pointing downward, the ads were back. What the heck is going on? I have Ad Block Plus activated for this site, and blocking specific elements on any given page eliminates that ad on that page but the ads come back for all other pages and they reappear on the initial page when I return to it from some other page.
On the regular forum page, the lower ad is covering the central portion of the first line of post. That same thing happens on other forum pages. Certainly causes difficulty in determining the full content of the first post in a new topic.

Even more perplexing, the popups appear only on my laptop, not on my desktop???

clear your browser cache on the laptop
Log out of GTA then back in

Nope, clearing the cache didn't work either.

I have cleared the cache, tried the top right chevron up and down and the popups are still there. Popups do not appear on any other forum to which I am subscribed so there must be something about settings here that I haven't discovered. On this page, right now, there are small block ads for FX Airguns, Airgun Pro Shop, Airgun Archery Fun and Sekhmet Airgun Accessories. Since they are all airgun related, that seems to me to be another indication that the problem is related directly to this forum.

Thanks! Adding AdGuard got rid of the popups. There were no updates available for AdBlockPlus so no changes were possible there.

Popups are back! It turns out that AdGuard is pay for use, after a free trial period and my trail has expired. I'm not going to pay for anything else so I guess I'll just live with the popups. I really don't understand why Ad Block Plus won't block them.

Because those pop-ups are part of the web site. They help pay for GTA's forums costs.

Then why was AdGuard able to block them for the period of the free trial? Why does no one else complain about them? Why do the popups block part of the functional part of the page such that some of the first line of the first post on a page is blocked? Or, as the screenshot above shows, blocks at least part of the Subject Line box, etc. If the popups were really part of the web site, it seems to me that they would be placed so they did not interfere with any part of the site.

I've had the same problem but it is part of the forum. It's not doing it to me right now but was a few days ago.

McAfee has a good free add blocker, what's a popup ;)

I have the same problem as the OP of I try to use any theme other than the default. Clearing cache, etc. didn't help. I wish I could use a darker or non-pcp theme without the ads interfering with the view.

Thanks, Dan! I though I was already using the default theme but changing to it specifically got rid of the popups! Yeah, having things a bit darker would be nice but not having to deal with the popups is nicer.

I guess I should clarify my last post. The popups aren't really gone, they are just laid out in a horizontal array instead of being stacked top to bottom. As a result, even though they are still visible, they are arranged so that they don't obscure anything of interest. In any case, I can live with that.
