The other day I was hunting with my AR for coyotes when my semi-expensive shooting sticks broke! They have a "v" shaped top that pivots so you can shoot. The metal pivot snapped clean off. My AR isn't even that heavy, but I did use them a lot in Nebraska while prairie dog hunting. IN FACT, I bought these sticks because the bipod on my .223 broke! The manufacturer sent me another bipod, but I had to pay shipping and I had to have something in the meantime since I still had days to hunt.(I know this isn't air gun related, but I used those same sticks to shoot prairie dogs with my Benjamin Discovery so it is in a way.) I was able to repair them by doing some cutting and drilling, but I was not a happy guy. After they broke a coyote ran by at extreme range and I couldn't take the shot without a good rest. Anyway, I was doing some web browsing this morning and ran upon this video:http://www.grandviewoutdoors.com/articles/3715-video-build-your-own-shooting-sticks#sthash.1YtyDfcK.dpbsI thought I would share it with you guys. I'm not certain it will work with your springers, but it will for sure work with my PCP. I have some home made sticks I made from wood, but these look like they will be lighter and work a lot better. My wooden ones have nails stuck in the bottom. They do double duty for snake protection! I guess I could put some nails in these with epoxy.
