Trust me, it WAS good. All gone now though.
One change we will make next time, the broth from cooking the squirrels was a little thin because squirrel has so little fat on its body. The next time, we will use broth from the chicken for the squirrels too. It is much thicker and richer. There was PLENTY of chicken broth for both batches.

Why did I have to wander into this forum BEFORE supper? I'm already starving! You just reserved the vegetable/squirrel stock and boiled the dumplings in that, right? I'm going to have to try this when squirrel season is open again.

Yeppers, although the next time we are going to use the vegetable/chicken stock instead because chicken makes a much richer broth.

I really appreciated the pictures! I made some earlier this week. I didn't cook any chicken with it, but I did use 2 cans of Cream of Chicken soup. It was delicious! I forgot to get a picture of it before we started eating it. I also cut the carrots a lot smaller too.

That looks great. I took out a pest squirrel last week. He's in the freezer now but he will likely be in my belly this weekend.
