Opening day part II

Well after finishing a few things around the house I was able to get out for the second time today. I went back to dairy and this time I didn’t even bother getting the shotgun out. I just took the B28 and the 350 Feuerkraft Pro Compact. To be perfectly honest I’m not quite sure how many each gun harvested but it was probably pretty close to a 50/50 split. I also ended up taking 2 starlings when things slowed down and they were good for keeping my head in the game. It’s been along time since I’ve shot an adult starling and I forgot just how pretty they can be. I did end up loosing one bird and I had a few fly offs. I made a truly long shot with the B28, somewhere out to about 65 yards, and I will never tire of hearing the pellet strike home from that kind of distance. I could have taken a lot more with the shotgun but I couldn’t have had a better time.

Just sat down to relax for the evening and something disturbing came to mind now that I've had a chance to wind down. I woke up this morning and purchased my Utah small game permit which cost me 30 bucks. Then went out and shot a total of 13 birds today, 12 of which were the Eurasian Collared Doves, which don't require a license. So basically the one and only Mourning Dove I shot today was a 30 dollar bird. Good thing grouse and pheasant season is just around the corner!

If it was easy it wouldn't be hunting it would be shopping.

Very nice shooting Dave and awesome pics! You guys have tons of those Eurasian doves. I see you used the 2 cousins, the 350 and B28 : ) Which one do you like better?
That Starling looks pretty fat. I wonder if it's carrying eggs in its belly. I have never shot or seen a Starling that looked so bulky.
