HOSPS coming to a bait station and getting shot is not baiting, it’s public service.
Comparing a couple 5 gal. Buckets to acres and acres of bait is tough to say who is unethical.
I suppose it depends on whether you are hunting for the sporting aspect of it, or hunting for food. I would imagine that back in the day, any plains Indian or cave man would LOVE to have been able to bait his prey, because his objective was very likely for food. For someone who kills just because he likes to kill, I can see where baiting might not be considered sportsmanlike. I don't bait, but I sure as heck use my martin and bluebird houses to attract the starlings I kill. My objective is two-fold....to keep the starlings from taking over my bird housing and keep them from killing native songbirds, but I also like to eat starling, so I don't feel guilty in the least little bit for taking advantage of their weakness.
For PIGS which are Pests and some other situations !! .... see it as a GREAT practice ! Deer and other Wild and native game it is not sportsman what so ever IMO.

Yup, when your putting meat on the table to feed mouths your responsible for, while Building a structure to winter over in, while weighing less than you did in basic training, and using logs cause you can no longer afford lumber you may find yourself doing things that some unaware, unenlightened, types would foolishly call unethical. I will bet a crosman 108 town and country that anyone regularly using the word unethical is not able and/or willing to walk as far as I walk, paddle as far as I paddle, continue to hunt after seeing brownies, And pack out the moose/bear/caribou as far as I. Ethic is a word for trying to force your limited moral understanding on others. It is discriminatory and political.
Do you put a worm on your hook to catch a fish?I haven't actually hunted since I was a teenager. Then it was rabbit, squirrel and pheasant. We did not bait, we went old school. Stalked or posted up in a blind.I bait for pests and I don't eat them. But I will this... if I had to hunt to feed my family I would pull all stops.
Is baiting really hunting? Why yes, of course it is!But only if you have achieved Master status :
