Tuxing TXES012 compressor

Thought I would put this here as I have had this little unit for a few months now and am really liking it.
I started off looking at a simple pump for my rifles when I was still waiting on them to get here. Well I remembered that using a hand pump is awful so started looking at compressors. I was shocked to see how low in price they have become from the last time I looked at them a few years ago. Of course everyone was talking about the YH compressors, and I couldn't find one in stock anywhere. So up popped the Tuxing brand on Amazon and Alibaba. So did some reading about them and found that the YH and Tuxing are basically the same, from what I can tell. Well I got the compressor and of course I had to get a tank. Went and bought a 30 min tank and was wondering after I bought the tank if the small compressor would be able to handle the fill.
Needless to say the first run of the compressor was a little shaky and bad. There were a few loose bolts on the unit including the one of the bolts that connect the head. Well after fixing that, bad seals, bad piston rings..... we started to fill the tank. I took it easy on the compressor and went for over a week or so slowly filling the 30 min tank. It felt like forever but it did get the job done and my tank was full. Was also using the compressor from time to time to fill my Red Wolf as well.
Then came my 60min tank that showed up to my house last Monday, April 19th. Well called the local dive shop to see if they could fill the tank for me to help save the wear on the compressor. Took the tank to them and had to drop it off to wait for the owner to run the compressor. My tank is still within service for another 4 years, but there had never been a hydro test done on it since it was manufactured. Didn't realize this and they told me I could send it out to be hydro tested, or take the tank back. Was thinking this was going to take a long long time to fill with the little tuxing..... NOPE
I started on Friday afternoon with a 1 hour run. After the long run I tore things apart and did a rebuild as it was coming due anyway. Did a small 10min run to make sure things were good, then back to the races. I got back to filling for around 45-30 min at a time, then of course letting the compressor cool down and swapping out the cooling water. Well this afternoon I was able to get the 90min tank filled to 4500psi as well as topping off my 30min tank.
The only things I have changed is the seals that are used from the factory are garbage. I went to Napa and got a sheet of the gasket material and made my own. This sealed things up much better and made a noticeable difference. After the first break in period I opened things up to make sure there were no metal flakes or anything inside. While inside I did take the connecting rod off and cleaned up all of the over cast, as well as used some gear lube for the needle bearing. Basically just cleaned things up and made sure things were where they were suppose to be with no extra bits hanging off. I also trued the low pressure cylinder head top and bottom. Using a piece of glass and some 400 grit sand paper to get things nice and true.
For around $350 it really isn't a bad little compressor. With a little work this guy is great. Though sadly I am wanting something bigger that can top things off quicker! lol this cycle never seems to end

It's good to hear. It seems that the chicoms can make good products that just need the buyer to do the detail work.

I have a feeling this is the same with the YH compressor as well. A little work is able to make these things go a long way.
