What you "fail" to see is that each compressor allready have a one way valve situated right before the airline (fron the cylinder) enters the tank. That is to ensure the compressor does'nt start against pressure in the first lace.
You do'nt need another one in the line but if it floats your boat.

If you couple your compressors parallel then your airtanks need to have an ample (extra) volume for the Booster to work during "down" time.
If you let your compressors work alternatly then you will always have an ongoing compressor and little to no use for extra air volume.
Food for thought!

Think of it this way:
If you have 10 compressors worling in parallel then you need a 10X plenum for it to work (1 time on and 9 times off).
If you have 10 compressors working one at a time then you need 0 plenum as air is always replenished, and yet 9 compressors are still on idle!).
Ie: if you have 2 compressors working in tandem they need a tank big enough for the compressors to work in 1/2 but still deliver total volume. They will only deliver 1/2 of the used volume.
If you alternate the compressors you dont need a "plenum"(for idle air usage) there is no idle time off ,as the other one works.
So 2 compressors coupled alternaly tuned right will be on at 95+% of the time and deliver optimum volume to the booster.
Not trying to bug you! Just to educate you and help you ;-)

Henrik,
Your free to do what you want.
The first time I ran this, I did it with both compressors running, starting and stopping together. Of course it filled much faster, but it was only an experiment, I ran them that way and recorded the fill rate and the on and off ratio.
Right now I am waiting for a 2nd 12 inch fan to put on top of the newest compressor to reduce heat and prolong compressor life, the same stup I have on the first compressor.
Once I have that cooling system in place, I will alternate the two compressors, which has always been my plan, I am retired and like to tinker.
I will be trying different start times and this will take some time, so pour yourself a another drink, and chill out dude, maybe get some sleep.

Ran it yesterday morning with both compressors running on the same cycle.
With both fans running, the compressor cylinder and heads were 85/110 F.
I have two small leaks in my Joe B fill adapter at the cg347 and exiting the bleed valve, still it put 700 psi into my 60 minute bottle in 90 minutes.
Water buildup in the compressor tanks was 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon. The oil/water separator was dry, the media filter did not change color. Still I have a larger Alliexpress desiccant filter coming to put on the line from the storage tank to the Altaros booster.
Still need to seal up my Jie B fill ada-ter.
Cycle ratio was 30/70.
Noise level will still allow a cell phone conversation 5 feet from the system.

One other note that I should mention regarding CAT compressors. And why I do not feel that two compressors do not need to be wired together.
CAT makes a 4 h- compressor, actually they make two models, both with twin 2hp motors sitting on top, the same motors and pumps on mine.
The 2, 2hp motors come on at the same time and stop at the same time.
