Suggestions for a specific make/style for artillery holding front of springer?

I primarily use a table for my shooting. And artillery hold on my springers. A bag needs to be wide enough to let my hand rest on it and gun on my hand. Saw one on The Airgun Show (British) but don't know particulars. Amazon is my friend too!
Thanks. Don

Some rest their gun on a bag. Others use a roller rest. I prefer to rest my gun on my hand with my hand supported by the rest. For my Diana 34 my thumb goes on one forearm screw and my middle finger on the other. My index finger is in the cocking slot. One member here likes to use a golf glove on his supporting hand. Another likes to use a piece of silk. I've been known to use a piece of flannel between my hand and the gun. That hand also provides any pressure to the shoulder. The trigger hand is used only for pulling the trigger, it has no other job. The artillery hold is not a one size fits all proposition. You have to play to see if your gun wants to slide or be held firmly. Nicer weather is coming so you'll have all summer to figure out what works.

What Thomas said was good. When I shoot from a bench I have my elbows on the bench and lean the middle of my left forearm on a sand filled leather Rabbit ear bag or stacks of range sand bags. The bags steady my forearm but leave enough body tissue above it to float the rifle. I vary the grip from rifle to rifle to rifle. Some like to slide on an open palm. Most like a very light grip. During high humidity I find it helpful to put baby powder on my left hand to aid the slide. The flannel Thomas recommended sounds like a great idea too. Generally I find some sort of vertical fore end control is needed. Simply resting a springer (particularly higher power to weight models) on top of a roller rest or a completely open hand can make for looser groups with more vertical dispersion. I too use stock screws or barrel pivot bolts (depending on model) for exact repeatable finger/hold placement. Like Thomas my left hand applies all the shoulder pressure, which I generally keep to a bare minimum.
My right palm and bottom three right fingers are open and barely if at all touch the rifle. I place my right thumb on the vertical spine of the stock and squeeze the trigger straight back to the thumb. Leaving the palm open and other fingers loose and mentally picturing pulling the trigger straight back towards my thumb keeps me from squeezing the whole hand and pulling the gun off target as the trigger is pulled.
All in all the less points of pressure my body has on the gun the better. Unlike other guns, with springers I don't want a good cheek weld. Each time I try a solid cheek weld, my fat face changes the POI and accuracy degrades. Less contact pressure the better.

Excellent, instructive and helpful suggestions in this thread as all others I started. I'm sending my nephew that bought my Birmingham Webley Stingray a link to this too. I've tried to explain the artillery hold but don't believe I've explained well. I recall years ago shooting 20 yard three shot groups with the Webley, usually of dime size. My eyes were 15 to 20 years younger too though. I hope he enjoys that Webley as much as I did.
Thanks again. Don
