I'm quickly learning to hate these guys. Sure didn't take long for this one to start raiding the feeder. Filled it back up and not 15 minutes later #2 was hanging around. The birds hadn't even come back yet! 25yds, CPHP, Diana 34 compact. Looks like the pellet went right through it. I was aiming for just behind the front leg. It's a bit windy today, but the slight wander of the pellet didn't seem to matter a bit. When I got down to where it was just as you see it in the first 2 pics.
The battle is on and I'm all in.

Nice shooting and beautiful 34 Compact. It spits those CPHP's between 900 and 920fps. They easily go through a squirrel at 25-30yds. My longest shot at a squirrel with my 36 (same gun as 34/same internals) was 32yds and it went through its head. I think at 35-40 it will still go through. The CPHP's are hard and penetrate very well.

Thanks guys. You ain't kidding about CPHP penetration. I have two home spun tests that I like.
First is an old tomato can that most pellets will either go through only one side, or just merely dent. Took a shot at it with the CPHP at 35yds. I was expecting the can to flip off the log it was sitting on. All it did was rock a little bit as the pellet blasted clear through both sides.
Second is a failed votive candle I made (I make candles for m'lady so we don't have to buy 'em). Most pellets will penetrate the wax about 1/4-1/2 an inch. The CPHP went about 1"-1.25" deep... almost clear though as the candle is only about 1.5" in diameter.
Very nice performance and I'm pleased they shoot so well in my rifle.

p.s. Just saw Red Menace #3 while shooting the candle this morning. Might have another kill before the end of the day.
