RWS 48 Refurb on the way.

Hope I've made the right choice today. Air Gun Depot had the RWS 48 on sale today in .177. I read so many reviews in here and else where that my eyes are getting blurry. I had just about made up my mind on the RWS 34 in 22 cal then I saw the airgundaily add for this rifle. The rifle is a factory refurbish and comes with a 1 year warranty all for $239.95, shipping and a 500 count tin of RWS pellets made it $265.69. PA has the rifle for $429.00. I know that I'm going to need a scope and this is where you guys and gal come in. Thanks for the forthcoming suggestions.

Congrats on the new shooter! Im sure youll love it. Def a better rifle than the 34 and ya didnt spend mich more.
For the scope id go with the utg base from pa and either a leapers 4-16x40 or if you want to shell out a little more cash the hawke scopes are alot clearer. I have a hawke eclipse that is alot nicer but alot more. The links below are to the set up i have on 2 of mine and its a good setup. The utg mount bellw will only work on a t05 or earlier trigger. If its a t06 you will have to use a bkl or other mount or mod the gun or utg mount. Its easier to use the bkl mounts on t06 trigger guns.

I second using a BKL260-D7 it will work both on T05 and T06 models. The RWS Lockdowns are OK and cheaper but China made versus BKL USA made.

DJ, Thanks for the tip on the scope set up. I got the rail and scope today from PA today. Good people to deal with, fast shipping too boot. Got the scope mounted and got to say I really like this rifle. I'm sure it's going to take some time for me to get used to shooting this kind of gun and being on target out past 35 yards. The 48 came in Saturday and it looks nice for a refurb. It's a five year old 48 the date stamp was 09 07. It was less than half price of a new one and it seem to shoot pretty good. It's even better with the scope.

Well, I'll just throw mine in. GREAT CHOICE ! Owned the 48 and 52, and still have the 52. Great shooter for distance and power in .177.
Go with the heavy pellets...I use the JSBs or the Premiers.
The UTG mount for the 48 is a very solid mount. I've been a fan of the Leapers Scopes as well. Not the lightest...but magnum tough. I use the Accushot 3-12x44 SWAT compact and really like it. But sold my 48 with a Leapers 3-9, that has been running for over 5 years with no problems. It's a .22 and gets a lot of time in the field, so enough said. Again, great choice and best shooting to ya!!! Mike
