Hello all!I have an early Diana model 38 .177 date code on the cylinder is stamped 04 85.My father purchased this rifle new in 85, and it was given to me in 86.Over the years, I have mainly used this rifle for pest control and plinking. I'm going to mount a scope on it, so I removed the front sight. The scope I ordered is a Vector Veyron 4-12 x 44. I plan to target shoot and small game hunting.I have researched some of the Diana model 38's and mine looks different from what I have found so far.I don't think my father ordered a special model, it was purchased in US. But it has a few things on it like the butt cap on the grip and rubber pad on the back. The stock is walnut and the safety is just an " L" shaped lever. It also has a flat cylinder butt cap.The trigger guard is metal and has a whole for adjusting the trigger pull. The trigger assembly has two screws for adjusting.Im not sure what trigger is in this rifle.P.S. sorry about the photo bucket watermarks.
Not to burst any bubbles but that is a beech stock. In the second picture you can clearly see medullary rays which are visible in beech, not in walnut. Great gun and nothing wrong with beech. It’s a great wood to work with and has, I am sure, served you well.Clark
Couldn't help myself, nor sleep, until I looked this up.FWIW - Medullary Rays
