Don't feel too bad. Most of our air rifles wear scopes and even some of our pistols, thanks to silhouette shooting back in the day. The few rifles and pistols that don't wear scopes wear red dots, now. Not so much the eye thing, though my my 70ish eyes can use a little help. For me, scopes and red dots do a better job for my shooting. Just that simple. In fact, I've been shooting with scopes offhand/no rest for so long, I much prefer scopes for that kind of shooting. For sure, we still have some vintage AGs that I still shoot with irons, now and then. Hey, the tradition of iron sights is great and under the right conditions, I can do some great shooting with irons, but the bottom line for me is that I don't feel any loyalty to iron sights. Each to their own, as always, though.
What kind of glass did you slap on it?
