NCG, Ive been a Sheridan lover ever since I got my first one in 1966. I have 3 beautys and know them intimately as I rebuild them myself. I can tell you without thought, the old Crosman Premiers were the best pellets to use. Then for some QC issues you get a flier every 1 or 2 out of 5 shots. So as far as I know the JSB exacts are the next best pellets though they are a touch lighter. FTTS ,Crow Magnums and a few others I tried were not that good. I think JSB makes a new heavier 20 thats 15.8gr. that ought to be a beast. I am skeptical too on availabilitys of good 20 ammo. I thought it might have been phasing out at one time. But who knows, maybe with all the good reviews some companys are listening and continueing it on. Yes please report your velocitys with the stock setup. I suppose the Vortek kit HO and SHO can bump it up another 25-50fps.

The gun had an adjustable theoben gas ram and I tried everything between 17 and almost 24 fpe and it was by far the worst shooting of the four available Diablo style 20 caliber pellets. I have my doubts about its usefulness in a roughly 12fpe Hw50. Try it but I wouldn't order more than one tin first.
Thanks, Ryan. Those are the Sportsmatch TO4C, my go to rings for most of my airguns. Lots of other good brands and choices, of course, but I've always had good luck with Sportsmatch.
