I wonder if they can be removed? If you could take them off, heat them up glowing , and quench them in motor oil? Did that once to a homemade tomahawk, had a nice hard "ring" to it when I tried to sharpen it with a file after.
Not sure how long I’ve been occasionally using one… 10 years likely… and they do get beat up. Flippers stand up pretty well.Low power….thinking they just generalized as .177 sub 750fps, but didn’t take into account someone was going to launch hard cast 18gr. slugs at one.Once the flippers oxidize a bit, or you get them slightly greasy, won’t have a pellet stick problem. Eventually will get to a point that you’ll either have to polish them or paint them to get contrast.Even if you made stronger flippers, you can blow though the sheet steel box on a miss with a higher power PCP.
