I built myself a 100 yd range in the woods behind my house, and I worked on tuning my Veteran to 5% off the max velocity using the hammer spring, AND I sorted these pellets with a Pelletgage. They are 5.55 mm JSB 18.1s.

Taipan Veteran .22
still conditions
100 yards (lasered)
1.51" group CTC (see caliper picture) --All inside the 2 MOA ring.
Shot off bench with bipod and rear rice bag
I think this is VERY close to Expert?

Good shooting. I upgraded you to Expert on the list. Congratulations
I overlooked the .01" over. Measuring ctc on pellet holes with calipers trying to find center hole is not an exact science. I measure outside of hole to outside of hole and then subtract the pellet diameter. I find that with a good backer behind the target, the pellet will leave a small halo around the actual hole and the outside of the halo is where I measure from.

Ladies and gentlemen,
I would like to try this competition, however I am having a love affair with Williams peep sights. Is there an all black target available or can I make my own?
Thanks for your time,
Mitch
Ps. Here is my first attempt ever shooting at 100 yards. 10 shots in all, sitting on a bum pad elbows on knees.

The NUAH targets are at he bottom of the rules page....
https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=100865.0
There is a target with an all black bull (except the "X" ring).... Printable targets are at the links at the bottom....

You can color in an official target with a marker or highlighter and still see the scoring lines.
