Great shooting Manny!  That looks like a good eating size pig and it is good to see that
a .30cal can knock it down.  The skull image is proof enough.  Getting my new .30cal
Impact ready for my annual hog hunt.  This year I will take my .357 Bulldog and my Impact.

Good shot. You were standing up and that partly made up for the angle. Did you say which pellet you were using? Be Well, Packy.

Thick cover and close does not sound like the most enjoyable way to hunt for a pig.  A friend was hunting with a guy that only wounded a hog and he said that after it was shot it was not pretty at all.  I am glad that you got a quick kill.

Jerry what happened once the hog was injured? A lot of people have little respect for boar believing they always run away scared but that's not the case. They can be vicious when shot or when protecting their young. I had a fox charge me after I shot it where thankfully I hit it again just 20ft from me which left me shaking and breathless afterward because I knew it wasn't coming to play marbles so if fox are willing to do that then boar definitely are.
There is much needed hope for the future. Our world is not falling out of place it's falling into place just as foretold. https://christinprophecy.org/

Does the vinegar get rid of boar taint? I've heard apple juice or orange juice works well for that.

Anything acidic will take care of the taint and tenderize the meat at the same time. I use fresh limes when available, it doesn't take much, you don't want to pickle the meat.

Nice porker Manny. Perfect size to cook.

Yeah it's a bit stressful when I run into one in those transition areas, I've seen a monster about a couple months ago and if I had to run into him in them transition areas it sure would make it very interesting.
