I would immediately call Crosman for a replacement.
Talked to Crosman today, the damaged Recharge is on it's way back. They said they would ship a replacement as soon as they see UPS has the damaged one, so hopefully, I'll get a new shipping notification later today or tomorrow. It is good to deal with a great company that has your back!Interesting tidbit, of all the Benjamin Recharges sold, more get returned due to damage during shipping! Pretty sad statement about UPS if you ask me... They said they have had very few that have had issues once they are set up and running. That made me feel better.
thats NUTS , they need to start making an actual crate for these things..sorry to hear, we were always told lightning doesnt strike twice
Paul, it has to be your UPS driver who must be a maniac. Last Sat I ordered a Recharge from Optical Planet and I received it in perfect condition late yesterday. I carefully unpacked and inspected it for damage. Not a scratch and no rattles when shaking it. I do plan on opening it this evening before I fire it up. Sorry for your bad luck with your local UPS. I would call UPS and complain because the driver should not have accepted it, for delivery, if the damage was done by their Distribution Center.
UPS is supposed to be picking it up today to ship it back to Crosman. I spoke to Chuck M. at Crosman yesterday and apparently they have a contract with UPS, so even though UPS has already destroyed 2 of them, they have no other alternative for shipping.
The main problem here is woefully inadequately packaging on the part of Crosman, a longstanding issue with them. That compressor needs to be double-boxed and have shock absorbing materials around it to protect from damage.

Heck my Traveler was packaged way better and both the original and replacement (gauge issue) were delivered in beat up boxes but unscathed. The only saving grace is Crosman does have excellent customer service, hopefully after TWO times they will realize they need to change the packing situation, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Paul, mine was boxed the same as in your photo except it had no dents or abuse. I had to sign for mine per Optical Planets policy so I inspected it prior to signing.
